Chapter 21 - The Assassination II

While Wei Feng experienced his first spring, Ying Yue moved to strike the assassin who made the sneak attack. What she abhorred most other than Fei Hong was this back-stabbing attitude of the cowards.

She agilely kicked the man on his abdomen then lifted her left hand, delivering a blow to his throat. As the man lost his balance, Ying Yue used this chance and pierced the man's heart then brutally twisted it sideways to make sure he died with that blow.

Flicking the blood from her sword, she faced sideways, "Since when are you going to daydream for? Leave these people to me and go help the prince."

After saying this Ying Yue faced the remaining people, fighting them savagely. It has been a while since she felt this kind of exhilarating feeling which made her vampire blood boil. Her eyes have long turned deep gold as she was being consumed by bloodlust.

As she continued pouncing and attacking, she got lost to the thrill and the smell of blood ignited the predator in her. She felt reborn. This life and death battle was calling out to the deepest and darkest part of her soul.

Since Ying Yue arrived, the battle one-sidedly tilted in favor of the prince. Making it out alive became much easier.

The fight with the prince with the help of Wei Feng ended quickly. Grabbing this chance, they helped the two soldiers after making sure that Ying Yue would do well without their help. Hell, they might even be killed along with those assassins if they were stupid enough to get near. The little girl looked like a grim reaper, able to kill swiftly without batting an eye.

As they clean up the area, stacking the bodies together, Ying Yue was also wrapping up with the last assassin. Though she wanted to kill this one too, this guy might give out information that would be helpful to the two. With this in mind, she sent a powerful punch, disabling the guy's jaw then she made a graceful maneuver chopping the nape of the last assassin so he would lose consciousness.

"This guy is only unconscious so you can deal with him however you see fit." Ying Yue gestured towards the guy under her feet.

Although they clearly saw how fierce and brutal this little girl was, they still can't simply wrap their minds around the fact that this was the reality.

"Little girl, this prince thanks you. May this prince know the name of our benefactor?" The prince sincerely felt indebted to this girl. They hurt the girl's pet but in return, after retaliating a bit, she let them go. And now at their dire straits, the girl unhesitatingly helped them and saved their lives.

"No need. If you are truly grateful then help me watch over the animals in this mountain." Pausing as if trying to phrase her words much better, "I know that people need the meat and vegetation from here, and I am not stopping that, but all I want is for you to be mindful as some of the animals here are becoming endangered. Allow the little ones to grow and the big ones to properly multiply. Reach a balance." Saying her last piece, she once again turned around, leaving them for good.

The prince was once again astounded. He never thought that in this forest, a formidable young girl lives. She was young but her mind was as vast as the ocean. Deep and immeasurable.

Wei Feng who lost his soul finally regained composure upon seeing the girl gone. He grasped his thumping chest, face heating up in a speed visible to the naked eye.

Looking at the place where the young girl disappeared to, he made a vow. He will put everything at stake to find this girl and marry her when the time comes. He will protect everything she said to protect in hopes that one day, it would help him get the girl's acknowledgment. But before that, he needed to change himself. He cannot stay as frivolous as he was now. Yes, the first change must come from himself.

Ying Yue who was now back at the cave didn't know that she became the first spring of someone. She simply asked Bao'er to set up a concealment array as to avoid being seen and detected. She had a long day so a good rest was duly needed.

"Bao'er did you get all the Good Karma from those people earlier?"

"Yes, Yueyue! We collected a lot! This would be more than enough for me to use to completely piece together the fragmented timeline. I would need to hibernate for at least a year and a half."

"No problem. The time flashes by quickly and we both know that, anyway, Bao'er can you channel some essence to the tiger now before going into hibernation?"

"Okay, go and rest Yueyue, I will start now." With that, Ying Yue closed her eyes to rest.

The sun was shining brightly when Ying Yue woke up the next day. With the spiritual essence successfully transferred to the tiger, its injuries healed fast and its vitality also rose by leaps and bounds.

A blob of light flew towards her arms rubbing itself like a kitten. "Yueyue! Bao'er made you a present!" throwing a streak of light to wake the poor tiger, Bao'er explained, "The tiger can now transform at will. Show it to Yueyue stinky cat!"

Since the tiger mutated, it's intelligence reached a frightening level comparable to humans so it understood the blob of light. It scoffed in response and willed itself to become small, making its way towards Ying Yue acting docilely and cutesy.

"You can now manipulate your size!" Ying Yue cried in surprise.

The tiger then rubbed itself in Ying Yue's hand as if asking its owner for more love.

This was the most Bao'er could do since this world has limitations. By raising its intelligence and giving it enough power to freely manipulate its structure, this would guarantee Ying Yue's safety to some extent as the little blob cannot interfere much in this world.

With this, Ying Yue could bring the cub back and no one would be able to notice it and if they do, they would only think that it was just a harmless little cub.

That same day, Ying Yue made her way down the mountain, hugging the little tiger and Bao'er floating around her.

Once they made it back to the estate, Bao'er then entered its hibernation with mind put at ease as its mistress would be protected while it slept.
