Walking along the street of the imperial capital, Ying Yue was quite surprised to see a lot of people standing on each side of the road. They all looked ahead as if waiting in reverence.
Ying Yue particularly picked up this time of the day as she knew there wouldn't be anyone along this road leading to the mountain so seeing a lot of people here could only mean something big.
Eaten by her curiosity, Ying Yue decided to join the people to see for herself what this was about. Not a moment after, she could see a vague silhouette of cavalry from afar. As it was getting nearer, she saw a banner swaying vigorously in the air as if showing the imposing might of those behind it.
Ying Yue saw two coiling dragons insignia which signified the emblem of the imperial might of this continent. The Longxuan Empire.
She read from the books that this empire was under the rule of monarchy. Emperor Long Ziqi has 5 sons and 8 daughters. Among those 5 sons, only two were eligible to inherit the throne, first was the crown prince and this world's son of fate Long Hui and the 4th prince Long XiongWei.
There were a lot of gossips circulating in the capital about these two popular figures but this body only had snippets about the crown prince in the past life. There was nothing about the 4th prince.
People told tales about how talented and astute both of them were, but there were a lot of people saying that the 4th prince would be the one to inherit the throne as he was the favored one.
But according to this body's memory, it was the crown prince who inherited the throne in the end. So what happened to the fourth prince? Frowning deeply, Ying Yue thought how troublesome it was to not have the timeline at this time.
It has been a few months since Bao'er left to collect the fragments and according to her estimates, it will not be back until 6 to 8 months. She can only deal with this as it comes.
Ying Yue decided to observe the entourage to see if she can gain a little more understanding when she felt a gush of wind near her. While she was musing, she didn't realize that the cavalry was already passing the spot where she stood.
The wind that blew in her direction lifted her veil a little which gave enough space for her to inhale without hindrance. The air brought forth a very unique scent that made her blood boil. Every living being has a unique scent including gods and vampires. For example for her, her scent was that of a flower and seductive musk that can seduce her pray if she willed to make it potent. But this scent was different from everything she smelled so far including those times she wandered the earth. It smelt like a very addictive poppy flower.
This smell entices her and she can even feel a slight tingling from her fangs. She knew this was bad. She held her breath then looked up. There she saw a boy riding a sturdy battle horse. This boy looked like he was no more than 12 or 13 years old. His robe was very simple and monotonous. A black robe with gold thread and a crown on top of his head. His heroic brows were thick and shapely, his eyes were fierce and dark as ink, his nose was straight and his lips were thin and red. This boy looked very handsome and heroic.
"Your highness fourth prince, the entourage will have to pass by the outer range of the mountain to access the shortcut going to the border." An imposing soldier rode to the left of the prince then spoke in a deferential tone.
"Alright, this prince understands." A boyish voice was heard which showed hints of puberty through the rasping at the end. The entourage then picked up speed, on their way to the forest, the moment they passed through the densely packed road.
Ying Yue who overheard the conversation was astonished. So it was the fourth prince. Standing by and staring at the disappearing back, Ying Yue knew that this world was not simple. To think that she found someone this enticing, would this be a blessing or a curse?

A lone girl was bending down on the ground, surrounded by trees and wild herbs, fiddling with a wounded rabbit. Ying Yue has been inside the forest for half a day already but her mind still drifted off to the little prince. She felt something inside her cracked looking at the back of that boy but she can never make heads nor tails of what exactly it was she was feeling.
So here she was, diverting her attention with all her might by treating this wounded rabbit.
The good karma she could gain by doing this would be very little, but mosquito's meat was still meat, right? After fiddling around and treating the rabbit's wound using the salve, she crouched even lower to observe the changes from the wounds.
Ying Yue used blood coagulating salve and disinfectant. She had left the wound unbandaged as she was still trying to see how effective her salves were. Though the result was not as instantaneous as those in the interstellar era, the speed was still enough to stop the bleeding fast enough before it became dangerous. With this Ying Yue was satisfied.
As she had gotten her results, she quickly used the linen Xiao Hua cut out to form as bandages in her backpack to wrap up the rabbit's wound. After she did so, a white mist from the rabbit's body traveled towards her hand turning golden as it neared her. It was then absorbed by the red dot in the middle of her brows. Feeling the comforting warmth, Ying Yue finally felt her agitated emotion calm down.
That's right, she was here for a reason. She needs to give all of her undivided attention to the task at hand. She doesn't need any distraction nor an undefinable emotion she never experienced before.
Closing her eyes to take a very long and deep breath then slowly letting it go through her mouth, she felt the heaviness leave her. The moment she opened her eyes, those orbs became as calm as the deep water. Bottomless and very still.
