Chereads / DAUGHTER OF PROPHECY / Chapter 6 - Guests

Chapter 6 - Guests

I was mad at her for the huge amount of blind trust she has on him. The guy is a freaking dark prince and she's a goddess! How can something so pure allow itself to be tainted by the darkest of evil!!?

"You know very well that saving my life as well as Violet's was his only motive of living!, you of all people know he sacrificed himself for us"

Why does she keep insisting on giving excuses for him, the guy fu***ng left her! She'd be dead by now if my sanctuary didn't exist!

"And so he went back to his lavish lifestyle and decided you can fend yourself, is that considered monumental where he comes from? Leaving your heavily pregnant wife alone."

"You are such a bastard! Percy sacrificed himself for me and Violet! It wasn't his choice to not be here for us right now! Can't, can't you try and be the friend who understands me"

"I am that friend!" much more than that even. "I'm the guy who wants what's best for you"

"No" she looks at me dead in the eye "you're the jerk who gate crashed my wedding" her voice was so quiet as if she was trying hard not to feel anything, as she walked out of the office I tried to stop her.

"Sapphire wait!" Tried being the driving word"what have I done?"I muttered to myself once alone.

I have to fix this and I can only do that by talking with her, so I left for her room only to pass by Violet's room as I heard her voice meaning that she's in there. I know I have been raised a Lord but hey! I couldn't help but listen in on them.

"Mom...I can't believe you're actually sitting here and moping around, what's itching your royal ass" even Violet's sarcasm isn't cheering her up, instead, I think it makes things worse because not long before that Sapphire just burst out crying.

"I really miss your dad"

I lean my upper body closer to the door

"He'd know what to do right now"

she continues to sob

"Do you want to talk about him... mom..."

"I used to hate him so much when we were kids, and now my life just feels so empty like there's a void of meaninglessness that he's not around"

"Why are you beating yourself up for such useless things, you'll meet him again someday and that too very soon if I can help it... mom don't you believe in your daughter"

"He shouldn't have gone back to Erabithia, what if they killed him"

I can just imagine her giving her daughter a look of despair. How I so wish she could love me even with a tiny amount of that love she has for Percy. What exactly can he give her that I cant give to her, I love her too and I've been by her side our whole lives not allowing her to cry over me even for a minute

She was with him for just a few months and has been swimming in sadness ever since. Shouldn't that have allowed her to see how much my care for her is great compared to his, he did throw her away while she was in danger but I'm the one who opened up my sanctuary to take her in when it meant i could lose everything.

Does my love mean so little to her that all these years spent together side by side were just cast aside by a mere possibility of his existence? Does she love him so much that my love and care cease to exist at the mention of his name?

3rd person's POV

"That's not true mom" Violet scoffs

"he's royalty, that too an heir, so they wouldn't dare do that now, would they_" she stops mid-sentence as the sounds of a huge explosion makes the two woman freeze for a moment before composing themselves.

Aaron taking the chance bursts into the room

"we've got guests, unwelcomed ones"

"Mom is it time?"

Violet looks at her mother Sapphire as though she has all the answers in the universe.

" Of course not, you're ready but you're not that ready and so you're coming with me and Aaron to safety unless you want to further endanger Argan and the other students."

To the relief of both the adults in the room, for the first time the little girl shows signs of maturity and concedes

"Of course not, but where are we going?"

As Sapphire answers her, a considerable amount of determination reflects in her eyes and is carried in her tone of which leaves no room for argument.

" We're going somewhere safe, Mythia wouldn't dream of looking for us there or anywhere close"

Aaron went out and had the head guard assembly guard team from the elites that would go with them from the sanctuary as their entourage. Sapphire chooses weapons which they may be able to carry for the journey and violet having being tasked with menu duties, she quickly sets up a list of food items that they bring with them without adding too much weight to themselves.

'No matter your amount of power Mythia you won't have a trace of us, not anymore will my family be scarred by you not if I can help it 'witch of the three Midsections'.... I know what you are now my dear mother-in-law'

these were Sapphire's thoughts as they left the sanctuary.
