The rest of the morning was uneventful, except that I got an A on my Romeo and Juliet paper, which was good. But after the last few days we had, uneventful was good. Michelle met me in line for the cafeteria and waved me over.
"So, do you and Dakota want to double with Micah and me at the Homecoming Dance?" Michelle was actually bouncing on the balls of her feet with excitement.
I shrugged. "Not sure yet. It just depends if it's over the full moon or not."
I must have said it a bit louder than I thought because Braiden Spears, one of the class bullies standing behind us, laughed. "Why? Do you have to coordinate it with the Winter Solstice or something?"
I laughed, waving a hand dismissively. "That's not until December."
Braiden laughed. "What are you? A witch or something?"
I lowered my voice, getting serious as I raised an eyebrow. "Why? You want me to throw a hex on someone for you?"
His eyes grew wide as he backed away, giving me a wide berth. "You're crazy!"
