"Oh, you look gorgeous!" Mom gushed, fanning her eyes as she viewed me in my wedding dress. Then she leaned in conspiratorially. "Are you sure you want to do this?"
I nodded, smiling. "I'm sure."
In our short time together, Dakota and I had faced more challenges than most people face in a lifetime. But even though we had our ups and downs, we were both ready.
The Compound was finished, and we were going to move in right after we got back from our honeymoon. When it was finished, the Compound looked just like a castle in the field back away from our waterfall. It was the best secret Dakota ever kept.
Since we wanted to stay close to the Compound and my parents, we decided to go to college at the University of Colorado Boulder. Both of us were majoring in Business and getting our MBAs. Dakota had degrees in philosophy and a few in Medicine but hadn't majored in Business Administration. So, this was going to be something new for both of us.
