Dakota and I met the rest of the pack at the cabin to go to Durlan's funeral together. As Dakota had said, the school had closed down for the day.
When we got there, the church was packed. Keena and her family were sitting in the front of the church, and we sat toward the back. The church service was beautiful, and people said many wonderful things about Durlan. It was a shame that someone so kind had to die so young.
After the ceremony, we headed to the gravesite for the burial, but we hung back a bit to give the family time alone.
"Sorry I'm late."
My heart leaped into my throat at the sound of his voice. When I looked over, it was Michael, dressed in a black suit with a medium-blue shirt and a matching striped tie. His blond waves were combed to perfection.
