"We need to go shopping before all the good dresses are taken!" Michelle said as soon as she saw me in the lunchline. Then she grabbed my arm as her eyes widened. "Let's go shopping tonight! I'm so glad that you and Dakota are okay now! We can rent a limo and go together!"
Michelle kept yammering on as we stepped up in line to get our food. One guy behind us rolled his eyes, but I gave him a dirty look, and he looked away.
"Are you sure you don't want to just get dresses online?" I asked, not really wanting to go. "I mean, we had good luck with the dresses we bought online for the prom last year."
"Nope!" Michelle chirped, taking a hamburger and fries today. "This time, we're going to do it right! Shoes and all!"
I chuckled, glad to see her so excited. "So, is Millie and Lucas going to the Homecoming Dance, too?"
She nodded, smiling. "Do you mind if she goes with us?"
