"Jessica, are you okay?" Michelle asked, handing me my backpack. Then she shoved an orange juice in my hand. "Here. Drink this."
I nodded. "Thanks, Michelle."
Dakota walked up. "Michelle, may I have a word with Jessica, please?"
She glared at him and then turned to me. "Jess, text me if you need me."
I nodded once, and she walked away.
"Jessica, I don't know what that was about, but—"
"She's been coming on to you and taunting me!" I scoffed. "You just can't see it!"
"Okay!" Dakota held up his hands in surrender. "If it bothers you that badly, I won't talk to her anymore. But I said nothing when Michael kissed you!"
"No, you just punched him in the jaw," I said flatly.
"No, I meant after that," Dakota replied. "When I got out of the hospital! Michael hugged you in front of me, and I wasn't supposed to say anything."
"Michael is just a friend. He's a friend to you, too." I scoffed. "But Anae is just a b*tch."
