"Ready?" Mom asked when I came down the stairs.
I nodded. "As ready as I'll ever be." I missed Dakota, but I knew I'd see him at the wedding. For two cents, I'd go back to his house with him. Over the summer, I got used to being with him around the clock. Now, it was going to be hard to go back to seeing him sporadically.
"Are my ladies ready?" Dad walked down the hallway dressed in a dark gray suit with a blue shirt and a gray and blue striped tie.
"Wow, Dad! You look great!" I chuckled, not used to seeing him dressed up like this with his hair combed and wearing men's cologne. "And you smell good, too!"
Dad blushed. "Okay! That's enough," he said, taking in both my mother and me. "You both look lovely. Shall we?" He placed his hand on the small of my mother's back, and we walked out together. It was great seeing them together again.
"Here, Mom," I said, opening the door. "You sit in the middle."
"Are you sure?" Mom asked.
