"Lucifer's been busy," I said to Michael.
Michael gritted his teeth as he clenched his jaw. "Yes, he has." Then he took a step forward. "Lucifer, go back to Hell! You have no place here on Earth!"
Lucifer stepped forward and then burst out laughing. "Do you really think that I'd go back home now when I'm so close to having everything I've wanted since the dawn of time?"
Michael shrugged. "And what's that?"
"The Earth and its inhabitants," he said. "I tried to control those teenagers, Adam and Eve, but they failed me." He shrugged. "But no matter. Maybe these teens will be more... agreeable."
"Not on your life," I said, taking a step forward as Dakota stepped up with me.
"Ah, Jessica!" A broad smile spread across Lucifer's face. "It's good to see you here!"
"I wish I could say the same," I replied.
He shrugged. "No matter. I'll give you one more choice. Join me, or die."
