"So, let's go to Dakota's house," I said to Bash when we walked out of the restaurant. "A lot of us from the pack are staying there for the summer." Then I turned to Mark. "I'll take you back to Uncle Carl's house to get your car."
He raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure you don't want me to go with you, Jess?"
I shook my head. "No, I'll be fine." I had taken on the Dark Rider and the Devil himself. Surely, I could handle one Hellhound, should the need arise. But I had a feeling that I was safe with him. It had obviously been a while since he had belonged to a pack or a family. I doubted he would take a chance of messing that up… especially not so soon.
"Do you have a car?" I asked Bash.
He shook his head. "No, I'm afraid I've been living on the run for a while." He chuckled. "Probably too long. But between us, I have savings. But being on the run, and living a nomadic lifestyle as a Hellhound, I didn't have much of a need for a car."
