Although it had rained most of the night, the sun was shining brightly when I went downstairs ready for school the next morning, and Dad was having his coffee at the kitchen table dressed and ready for work.
"Morning," Dad said when I walked in. "Coffee's on, if you'd like some.
"Thanks." I poured myself a cup first and then held up the coffee pot. "What some more?"
"Maybe just a little." Dad let out a deep breath. "There was a body found this morning in the park near the hospital and they called me in the check it out." Dad smiled. "Since I was working the Full Moon Murders a few months ago, the department seems to be assigning me all of the strange cases." He smirked. "But I don't mind."
I sat down with my coffee and took a sip. "It's because you're so good at it."
He smirked. "Well, having a team of wolf-shifters to help me out helps, too."
