The next day, I was dragging in all my classes. Since I became a shifter, I never get sore anymore, but there were bruises all over my neck from the dragon that tried to kill me. So, I wrapped a scarf around my neck and wore a cute shirt and dress shirt combo and heels, since spring was starting to set in.
After school, the wildflowers were beginning to bloom and I saw a Cardinal, so I knew that spring was right around the corner.
"Are you sure you're going to be okay?" Dakota asked as he drove me home after school.
"Don't worry. I'll be fine." I knew he hated me going to my witch training without him. But Julien was right. We all needed all the training we could get... and that included both Dakota and me.
"Come here." Dakota extended his arm toward me across the back of the seat, and I leaned into him. Then he whispered just over my head. "You know I love you, right?"
