I sighed as another sprite appeared ahead on Zisaria's tracks. "Let's go."
A few more sprites appeared and then the tracks opened to the arena of monolithic stones and the huge slab. And there on the slab in a cage... was Dakota, now in his wolf form, pacing back and forth. Zisaria was nowhere to be found, but on either side of him were two huge demons with bat wings tucked in on their backs, horns protruding from their heads, and fangs overlapping their mouths.
"Get down before they spot us!" I yelled in the Pack Mind, but it was too late. One of them saw us. "Hang back," I said, walking forward. "I'm going in."
"Not alone you're not," Mark said. "Look. You may be the Alpha now, but I'm not letting you sacrifice yourself to save anyone… including Dakota."
"Who said anything about sacrificing myself?" I smirked, shaking my head. "I'm going in to talk."
