After my last morning class, I headed for the lunchroom, eager for a break. After being out of school for a week, it seemed that all my teachers were now trying to cram every fact I had missed into my brain all in one day. I looked forward to a quiet, stress-free lunch.
Right. Like, when is anything with the pack stress free?
"There you are!" Michelle said, holding a place in line for me. "I was getting worried!"
I sighed, stepping up in line. "All of my teachers kept me after class today to give me all the work I missed. My brain is officially fried, and I have the rest of the day to go."
Michelle gave me a sympathetic look. "Well, hang in there. After today, it'll get back to normal."
I raised an eyebrow as we both stepped up in line. "So, what's normal?"
Michelle and I looked at each other and then burst out laughing.
"I have no idea what that word even means," Michelle teased.
"Hey, Michelle!"
