Later that night, I headed down the stairs, ready for our stake out, and Dad was in the living room, watching the game.
"Going out tonight, honey?" he asked, stopping me.
I sighed, turning to face him. "Yes, I have some Pack Business that I have to attend to tonight."
A crease formed between his eyes. "But it's not a full moon."
"No, but something else came up. Bye!" Then I darted outside to wait for Dakota before Dad could ask any more questions. He would have a heart attack if he found out that we were going to stake out Cathy. But after finding out that Crystal and Cathy were friends, we had no choice. We had to get to the bottom of this before someone else died.
I pulled my coat around myself. But even though it was freezing out and the snow was still thick on the ground, the cold didn't affect me... at least not nearly as much as it did before I turned.
