Dakota and Mark walked out of the woods a few minutes later and headed over to me.
"Did you catch it?" I asked, my eyebrows pulling together in concern.
Dakota shook his head. "We followed it downstream and then lost it in the current." He sighed, biting his lower lip, and then released it. "But I'm sure it wasn't the same one. To make two trips like that downstream in one night and survive would be unthinkable, even for a werewolf."
I shook my head. "I wouldn't bet on it." I thought for a moment and then added, "I think we need to pay Cathy a visit."
"We'll do it tomorrow," Dakota replied. "It's been a busy night."
"Why don't you two go on home now, and don't stop anywhere else," Dad teased. "It seems you two are a magnet for monsters tonight."
