Before going home, I got my clothes out of the trunk of my car and changed in the cabin. When I came out, Dad was waiting for me. "Go on home, Jessica, and get some rest. Also, eat something when you get home and drink some orange juice, too. It'll keep you from going into shock."
I scoffed, looking at him in disbelief. "Dad, I really don't think there's any danger of me going into shock."
"Nevertheless, go ahead and do as I say." Then Dad looked over at Dakota. "Can you drive her home? I really don't want her to drive."
Dakota nodded. I was sure that he would have insisted on driving me anyway, even if my father hadn't asked.
"Dad, this is ridiculous," I said, shaking my head in disbelief. "I feel better now and shouldn't be leaving. What if there's an influx of werewolves like last month?"
Dad shook his head. "Not going to happen. We caught and cured so many last month, I doubt we'll have any at all this month."
