Nile is in a dilemma, according to the system, to become stronger, he needs to kill other zombies and get the Apocalypse Virus that is hibernating inside their head.
Does that mean that just like what the zombies are doing, he has to consume a brain to get the Apocalypse Virus? And to get stronger again, will he come to the point of consuming other people's brains?
'Waurggh' Thinking of that, Nile almost puked the foods that he ate earlier. Luckily the system gave another lengthy explanation right away.
[In order to collect the Apocalypse Virus, the Host only needs to open up the head of a dead zombie, after opening it, the Host will see a greenish liquid inside. That is the Apocalypse Virus, the Host will need to touch the Apocalypse Virus, and then let the System do its work. The System will automatically absorb the Apocalypse Virus for the Host.
If the Host still thinks that it's disgusting, the Host can buy System Weapon in the Store, as these weapons have the ability to directly collect the dead Apocalypse Virus inside the zombie's head. Just like how the Host calls the System earlier, you can use that method to call out the system store using the keyword 'Store'. The system reminds the host that there are still other functions of the system that the Host had yet to discover.]
Nile really did think that it was still gross. Imagine dipping your hands inside a zombie's brain. But now that there is a weapon store on his System, he can now rest his worries, if he could get this kind of weapon he can collect the dead Apocalypse Virus without touching it. Also, he already had an idea of what other functions the System had based on the novels that he read in the previous world. But now, he wanted to inspect the Weapons Store first.
So, he called out inside his mind.
'Store'
And with that, inside his head, a long list of weapons appeared inside his mind.
[Weapons Store:
Level One° Knife - A normal knife that is imbued with the System's power allowing it to be sharper.
/ 5 Apocalypse Point
Level One° Bat - A normal bat that is imbued with the System's power allowing it to be more heavy and durable.
/5 Apocalypse Point
Level One° Box Glove - A normal Boxing Glove imbued with the System's power allowing it to become more durable and deadly.
/5 Apocalypse Point]
...
The list goes on until he can see another row that has the label 'Level Two°. But those were greyed out for now, meaning he couldn't buy them yet.
Nile concluded that of course, higher-level weapons can contend with higher level zombies.
For now, he asks the System inside his head.
'System, how do I earn Apocalypse Point?' He noticed that this particular Apocalypse Points is the currency that the System was using to exchange for its items. He also thinks that the System does not only have a Weapon Store, maybe there are also Skills Stores and the like.
[Apocalypse Point is earned by killing zombies and collecting the Apocalypse Virus, Host. A part of the Apocalypse Virus collected will be used as a way to make energy for the System to run, another part will be converted into Apocalypse Points, and the rest will be distributed into the Host's body to strengthen it.
The latter part, the Host can consider it as the Experience Points(Exp) needed to Level up, the more Exp(A.V.) you get, the stronger your body will become.]
Now, Nile could make a guess on something that bothers him earlier. If he has a System, why did it not seem to appear directly after he transmigrated? In order to confirm this guess of his, he asks the system.
'System why is it that you only appeared after I went in after I killed the zombie outside? Did you come with me from my previous life or you are from this world?' He asked the System rapidly.
And, yet another lengthy explanation was provided to him.
[... Host, the System indeed comes with you from your past life. The System was only hibernating inside the Host's 'Will' in the previous world, as the Host did not meet anything that has any energy that the System can use to run itself, in the previous world, the System could only wait for an opportunity.
The 'Will' in the Host's previous world also had another term, the 'Soul'. Because of the lack of energy, even if the System had some energy to spare, the System could not give it to the Host as the System was programmed to only operate if the energy usage can be replaced, and the spare energy can only be used in an emergency instance.
Because the Host had died in the previous world, the Emergency started its thing and transported the 'Will' of the Host's to this world, which is currently experiencing an Apocalypse. What the System needs to operate is also the 'Will', but the System is programmed not to take the 'Will' of other living things to avoid the Host from indiscriminate killings. Hence the reason why the System couldn't boot at the previous world.
But now, because of the Apocalypse Virus destroying the 'Will' of the living person and replacing them, the System can use the Apocalypse Virus instead to operate itself, and at the same time make the Host become stronger as well.
After the Host's 'Will' is transported to the current world, the System collects the dead Apocalypse Virus inside the brain of the previous owner of the body to support itself after exhausting itself because of the Emergency. And as the System had already used its spare energy, the System can only wait for the Host to kill another zombie so that the System can collect some bits of Apocalypse Virus that are leaking after the zombie dies to run properly.
The System saw that the host was unable to move when he encountered the zombie outside, so the System made a decision to control the Host's right hand, and kill the zombie directly, thereafter collecting the dead Apocalypse Virus that is on the zombies head.
After a short period of digesting the Apocalypse Virus, the System can now operate normally for a few days. The System urges the Host to kill more zombies and collect their Apocalypse Virus for the Host to become stronger and for the System to continue operating.]
