In one of the provinces of the Philippines, a party was starting up, "LET'S PARTY!!!" the people shouted with excitement. The air was filled with the smell of food, the people started dancing as the quiet night was filled with laughs and celebration.
Watching over the party was a twenty-four-year-old Angelo Arawan, "Wow, I never expected the party to be this big," he said, right beside him was his brother, Jacob Arawan.
"It is tatay's birthday, everyone loves him," Jacob responded, "I mean look, even the children are playing with the old man, I thought they would go for the food immediately," as Jacob said this, Alessia appeared behind them.
"Why are you two here? Go out and party, especially you Jacob, you're making your own wife wait for her husband to dance with her," Jacob's eyes widened as he sprinted as fast as possible to the dancefloor, "Oh yeah, Jello have you seen Lucy around?" she asked as Angelo went to his thinking mode.
"I saw him playing with Scar, ask him," Angelo stated as Alessia began to walk off, "Oh yeah, if you find Barubaru, tell him they have his favorite food," Angelo mentioned while walking off.
"Ight then," Alessia noted, she walked around the party for a while. Her eyes then set on a man with a massive scar on his left eye, "Jimuel, do you know where Lucifer is?" Alessia asked the scarred man.
"Oh, you mean Barubaru," the scarred man crossed his legs and thought about it for a few seconds, "I think he went that way Madam. I swear, Barubaru doesn't hang out with the other kids," he said while pointing to the location of one of the houses that Angelo owned.
"Like father like son eh?" she said to herself, "Thanks Jimuel."
"No problemo Madam. Also, I wanna see you dance with master Angelo," the scarred man stated.
"...Maybe, but I need to get drunk first, they say you do stupid stuff when you're drunk," the scarred man laughed at this joke, Alessia smiled while walking off, "Lucy? Lucy? Lucy are you there?" she called out while inside the house.
"I'm here mama," a child's voice was heard. Alessia walked to the room where the voice was heard, there she saw her son who was reading one of the books.
"There you are, papa's waiting for you, grandpa's also waiting for his favorite grandchild," Alessia said while the young boy looked at his mother with sad eyes, Alessia was shocked at this.
"Mama… is it true that I'll have to kill a lot of people?" the child exclaimed while tears began falling from his eyes, "I d-don't wa-wanna kill an-anyone, I'm going to be h-hated when I d-do that," Alessia saw her own son crying and quickly embraced him and kissed his cheeks.
"Lucifer why are you thinking about that? Who gave you that thought?" Alessia said while beginning to cry herself, it hurt her to see her son like this.
"I-It wa-was gr-granny," the boy named the person that Alessia hated more than anyone else.
"Grandpa, papa and I told you to never listen to granny right? Just pretend she isn't even part of our family any more, okay Lucy?" Alessia asked the small boy. In her mind, she was furious, "Why are you still alive you witch, first you make my husband believe he is nothing but an object, then you're telling my son that he'll have to do something horrible," Alessia said to herself, her grip getting harder as the more she remembers the 'witch'
"M-mama, do you not like granny?"
"...Yes Lucy, I hate her, she has done a lot of bad things to papa. Just promise me Lucy, someday you'll grow up to be a good man," Alessia said to her son.
"Y-yes mama, I'll try my best," the little boy stated, Alessia smiled and patted her son's head.
"Trying your best to be a good man is one of the ways that make a good man."
10 years later…
"Okay Chris you got this," Chris encouraged herself, her heart was beating faster than she can even comprehend, "I-is th-this what p-people who confess to their c-crush feel?" she told herself, guilt came over her as she recalled dumping ten guys.
Chris wasn't looking where she was going, so she bumped into someone, "S-sorry," she apologized.
"You gotta start looking where you're going," the person she bumped into was her brother, Christian Tsunade.
"B-brother?" she asked, utterly confused that her brother would be staying at school at this time, "Oh yeah. Do you know where Samuel is?" she asked. Christian pointed in the direction where they came from.
"Oh by the w-" before Christian could finish his line. Chris sprinted to the direction where Christian pointed at, "Aww, I was going to tell her that Samuel and Tsuyuki are now a couple," but then it came to Christian, "Wait… chocolate, going to Samuel, and running fast… IS SHE CONFESSING??! Welp, I guess she'll figure that out by herself."
"You're heartless Christian," Npc commented while typing something on his phone, "Get to her first, Shinabaru," Npc secretly cheered Shinabaru on.
"I wonder where she is?" The golden boy looked around the school, searching for a certain girl, but he then got a message while he was on the ground floor, "Shinabaru, Chris is going to the rooftop," he read out as he began to walk there, "I see. I wonder if pretending I didn't like her would bite me in the back?"
While Shinabaru was walking to the roof, Chris was rushing to the roof, "I got this, no failing allowed in these parts," Chris told herself, the more she became closer to the roof, the more her body began to shake with fear, "W-what if he rejects me," the thought came to her mind, "...NO, you got this Chris. You have helped Samuel through his hard times, if I just do this the correct way I can do this," she kept encouraging herself the more she walked up the stairs. After a few seconds she was finally there, "All these months, I've been waiting for this moment," she told herself, but inside there was something that was telling her to not do this.
But she rejected that thought, she calmed herself and grabbed the doorknob, "I got this," she opened the door to the roof to see Samuel cheering, "There he is, the man I love," Samuel realized that Chris had entered the roof. He stopped cheering and approached her, Chris had her chocolates behind her back so Samuel didn't see them.
"Yo, what's up Chris whatcha doing?" Samuel tried his best at slang, he did this because he was quite happy.
"Uhh, S-Samuel I-I have something to s-say to you," Chris was holding the hand she had her chocolates in, her heart, beating faster as times went on.
"...Yeah, what is it?" he asked, a little suspicious of how Chris was acting.
"Y-you see here, when we w-were at the camp, and you and I were under the bridge, and you told me that I was dependable," the more Chris talked the more Samuel was getting the picture, "W-when you said that to me… I… I fell in l-" before Chris could finish the sentence, Samuel put his hand over her mouth.
"I'm so sorry Chris, but I can't accept your confession," Chris was instantly heartbroken by what Samuel said, Samuel removed his hand from Chris's mouth and walked to the edge of the roof, "Come, Chris, I wanna talk to you about something. Please don't run," Samuel said, his voice had a concerned tone, Chris was still processing over the rejection, her body was shaking, Samuel saw this, "Chris… I already have a girlfriend, I could not accept your confession. Plus, there's someone out there that is perfect for you," Chris flinched when Samuel said he had a girlfriend, she didn't want to talk anymore, but she just had to let it all out.
"I don't care about who's perfect for me, I want to be with someone I love, not someone who is perfect. You're talking about Shinabaru aren't you? I don't love him that way, but I do love you that way, Shinabaru deserves someone perfect for him, someone who would follow him wherever he goes, I can't do th-" while Chris was spilling out everything on her head, she realized the fear on Samuel's face, "S-Samuel?" she asked.
"I-I-I'm so s-sorry," Samuel apologized to someone, but it wasn't Chris. At this, she turned around. The image that she saw was more heartbreaking to her than the rejection.
Chris saw Shinabaru who was holding a torn-up rose, his hands were shaking and he was giving the fakest smile Chris had ever seen, "Sh-Shinabaru?" Chris was at first confused, then she realized what she just said, "Shinabaru, I'm so sorry, I d-didn't mean it, I was just… I was just."
To both Samuel and Chris's surprise. Shinabaru stopped shaking, and his smile grew into a real one, "It's okay Chris, you know I was expecting you telling Samuel that you hate me, that would do the mega bang bang for m-me," Shinabaru said in a joking way, his gestures and his actions were the same as the normal Shinabaru.
"Shinabaru, I'm so sorry," Chris said, her guilt growing the more Shinabaru did anything.
"What do you mean?"
"You can't fool me, Shina," Chris said, her heart was breaking down, she had her head down in disappointment to herself, Shinabaru saw this and began walking to her.
"Chris I'm alright, it's just a confession, I'll be okay," Shinabaru kept trying to encourage Chris who was shaking.
"You're not okay, if you were okay you would be-" when Chris lifted her head, she saw the image of a smiling Shinabaru… with tears flowing from his eyes, "Shinabaru?"
When Shinabaru realized this, he began wiping the tears from his eyes, "Hehe, I can't believe I'm actually crying, like this is what losers do right?" Shinabaru was laughing while trying to wipe the tears away. But the tears didn't stop, "...I'm a loser aren't I?" Shinabaru turned around for Chris not to see his face, Chris was worried for Shinabaru, so she grabbed his shoulder and made him turn around. What Chris saw was the face of a man who had just lost all hope, the fear that Shinabaru's face had utterly shocked Chris and Samuel, "I'm sorry," Shinabaru sprinted as fast as possible down the stairs.
"WAIT!!!" Chris yelled out, completely ignoring Samuel who was shocked at the incident, "Shinabaru please just wait," Chris cried out for Shinabaru. But instead of wiping her tears, he ran away from her, "Shinabaru," Shinabaru reached the hallway where Chris followed him, "Please just talk to me," Shinabaru didn't even turn around. The worst fear of Chris was unfolding in front of her eyes. In her head, she heard the voice of Shinabaru when they were talking normally.
"Why would you cry about me?"
"Yo Chris can you pass me the manga?"
"Heh nice joke."
"I told you, I'm the best at this game."
But one line stuck with Chris the most, "You're the most dependable person I know, you're funny, you're helpful, you're beautiful inside and outside," after chasing Shinabaru for a few minutes, Chris's legs ran out of energy, she tripped as Shinabaru turned the corner. He had disappeared.
There sat Chris. If it weren't for the end of school, she would've acted more professional. But no one was there, so she wept, her heart was fully broken, she cried out, "SHINABARU!!!" her voice was dying from the crying and screaming, "Where are you? P-please don't l-leave me."
A nine months ago…
"I wonder when will big bro come back?" Chris told herself while playing some games on her phone. Suddenly she heard some noise outside their house, "Is that them?" she asked herself, a voice quickly answered her question.
"Yo Chris, I'm back. And they're here," said Christian with his sharp voice.
"Coming," Chris, said as she stood up to open the door. when she opened the door, she saw four boys. One was her big brother, who had his usual emo haircut, one was a tall boy with hair covering his eyes, another was a chubby boy with blue hair, but what stuck out the most was a short, golden-haired boy with brown skin.
"C'mon in, be sure to take off your shoes inside, we'll talk about your room placements," Christian said as he went to the living room.
"Not even going to introduce me?" Chris said while going up the stairs to her room.
After a few minutes, Chris heard knocking on the door, "Coming!" she called out.
"Hello, your brother told me that I'd be staying in your room," it was the golden-haired boy, his smile was inviting but Chris was confused.
"A boy staying with me? I mean I could beat him but up, but geez brother," Chris said to herself while giving a smile, "Welcome to the Tsunade household, I am Christina Tsunade," she said with an excited voice.
"Pleasure being here…Wait, wait, wait. Is that Yoshikuro of the eight dragons?" the boy exclaimed, looking at the manga that Chris had on her shelf, Chris was a little embarrassed.
"I uhh, I just-"
"Cool, and it's the fifteenth volume, I've been trying to get this but I never found it," the boy said, his hands were shaking, "Uh, can I check it out?" he asked, Chris was confused.
"S-sure," as she said this, the boy got the manga and started reading, "Weird, I thought a pretty boy like you would be more flirtatious," she said, the boy turned to her.
"I'd rather make you my friend for the moment than make you my girlfriend. Christina wasn't it?" he said with a wide smile.
"Yes, but you can call me Chris. How about you? What's your name?" she asked.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to say. It's Shinabaru, Shinabaru Arawan," the boy said.
"Oh~ so that's how to pronounce it. Well, nice to meet you Shinabaru, I hope we can be great friends."
"Yeah, me too."
Present…
"Shinabaru," she cried out, "No, don't leave me," she stood up and started walking, when she turned the corner that Shinabaru went to, she saw the rose he was holding on the ground, she picked up the rose to see a note.
"To the person I treasure the most in the world, Christina Tsunade, from the boy, who am I kidding, I like you Chris, I hope you like me as well," Chris read the note, tears began to fall, "Why did you try so hard on your handwriting," she said while holding the rose up to her chest. Suddenly her phone rang, it was from Christian, he was calling her. She accepted the call, "What do you want Christian?" what Christian said made Chris's heart skip a beat.
"Shinabaru wants to talk to you, he's at your last year's math class," Christian said through the phone. Chris sprinted as fast as she could even though her legs were dying.
Chris arrived at her past math class in a minute, outside the door were Npc and Christian, "I'll leave you two at it, he already told us," Christian said while walking away with Npc tapping Chris's shoulder.
"I hope you make it up with him," Npc commented while following Christian.
Chris's heart was racing as she prepared for her talk with Shinabaru. She took a breath before opening the door. When she slid the door open, she saw the image of Shinabaru with his hair untied looking out the window, "Shinabaru?" she asked as he turned around, Chris walked to him and fell over because of her legs were shaking. While falling, Shinabaru caught her.
"Why did you run? You know I'll wait for you," he said while getting a chair and making her sit in it, Chris was so guilty for saying all those things while Shinabaru watched, "You don't have to apologize," Shinabaru had read Chris's gestures and actions, "Actually… y-you made it easier for me," Chris was confused at what Shinabaru just said.
"W-what do you mean?" she asked, Shinabaru smiled as he turned around.
"My name is Lucifer Arawan, the heir to the Arawan throne," Shinabaru said, revealing his true name to Chris who was surprised, "They call me 'The spider of the Arawan family' I have killed thousands for my goal to burn this world, I have tricked and manipulated millions of innocent people, many people hate me," he went on as Chris began to worry.
"Shinabaru, what are you saying?" she asked, her face had that of worry and confusion, which Shinabaru didn't like.
"Shinabaru is one of my personalities. Christian Tsunade you've been tricked by me. Nine months I've been playing with you, now you're nothing bu-" in the middle of his dialogue, Chris stood up and slapped him, "Oh, do you hate me?"
"Give him back."
"What? I told you, Shinabaru is just a personality," Lucifer said, his smile was wide at this foolish girl.
"Then go back to that personality," the foolish girl said, the devil merely grinned.
"Oh, you sure? The personality that had been lying to you all this time," the demon lifted the head of the foolish girl with his cold hands. The demon's sharp golden eyes met the girl's eyes, "The deprived, selfish, perverted, disgusting personality known as Shinabaru?"
"Yes... I want the funny, caring, determined, beautiful and lively personality known as Shinabaru," Chris said as she leaned in and kissed the lips of a demon, "The Shinabaru that I care for the most in this broken world," Shinabaru took a step back, but Chris didn't let go, she hugged Shinabaru, "I don't care if Shinabaru is a personality, I still care for Shinabaru."
"C-Chris, wh-what are you doing? Didn't you say you don't love me that way?" Shinabaru asked, he made his hands into fists so they would stop shaking.
"The more I thought about what I said, the more I understood. I loved Samuel the way people in shows love each other, I loved him at the moment. But with you, I loved you because we care equally about each other, I'm sure that you and I would stay as a couple even when we're adults," she said to Shinabaru, "Well Shina? Do you love me? Because I love you," she looked up at the boy with waiting eyes.
"...I do love you… but… you're making this so hard for me," Shinabaru embraced Chris with all his emotion, tears flowing from his eyes, "I love you, I love you, I love you… but, I have to leave you."
