"There are at least 5 Leaders. This is bad." Jhin said to me as we hurried the dazed and shaken civilians into the Shelter. "FC Ares, we have eyes on the targets. There are 13 Leaders! Do not engage! I repeat, DO NOT ENGAGE. Do you copy?" The Surveillance Team spoke to me. I had no choice. I had to engage. There was no one else that could defeat them…
"I am sorry, I have to engage." I said with a firm tone. With that, I saw the Leaders appear right around the corner. There are still civilians outside. Shit. To protect them, I launched a ball of flame towards them. Big mistake. The Frost Leader Wisps nullified it in a second. I had only aggravated them further. Seeing no other choice, I charge forward. My right hand curled up into a fist and felt energy surging through my veins. In fact, I feel electricity coursing through my body. My strides are stronger and I leave a trail of electricity. I gave one good punch and managed to knock them quite a distance back.To my realisation, I was not doing any damage.
I reported this to my brother only to receive a "NO SHIT. Now get the FUCK out of there!!!" I redirect the remaining of my electricity to my legs and run back to the Shelter. They caught up. I felt immense pressure on my back. My limbs feel numb. The strike from one of the Electric Leader Wisps knocked me down. The Shelter was being attacked by the Leaders. CRACK.
The building's walls just cracked. It was visible. I was dealing with powerful beings. I felt anger. Anger towards myself. Curse my weak body. Move god dammit! MOVE!
Then I vaguely saw Elissa in the building; the dream flashed before my eyes once again. Now, my anger was rising twice as fast. Why am I so useless. I couldn't save my parents. I almost lost my brother. I do not want to see anyone suffer anymore. My anger was now towards the Wisps. Fuck you Wisps. You guys should not have existed! The world would have been so peaceful if it weren't you assholes!
Energy surged through my veins. It was painful this time. Large amounts of energy was being drawn from my reserve. I passed out.
In front of me are 10 swords. All of them had writings on the blade. "Archangel…" I muttered as I grabbed the sword with the words 'Archangel' engraved on its blade. My world flashed to white.
(Narrator POV)
There was immense pain in Ares's gut. He coughed out blood. Then, wings of pure light shot out from his back from under his skin. He arched his back backwards, looked up and screamed in pain and in rage. His eyes were blinding lights and he wore an expressionless face. Elissa, who watched this whole event, was worried and horrified at the scene before her eyes. Partly because she also has a crush on a certain someone.
With one stride, Ares charged forward, his wing keeping him a float to maintain momentum. Strands of white shot out and spiralled from his lower right arm to form a sharp needle that acted like a rapier. With a swipe, he cleanly wiped out 8 of the Wisps. 5 remaining.
As he landed, he turned to face the remaining few. He struck them a death glare, which actually made them freeze in their spot. Finally, Ares flew 6 meters into the air, before pointing his needle of light downwards. When he landed, he struck the ground using the needle and the ground around him cracked. Pillars of light shot up to eradicate the remaining few.
The light from his eyes faded, to reveal blood red eyes, red sclerae, dark crimson pupils.
The surrounding debris and damaged building were miraculously recovered, and the barrier was back on.
Ares dropped to the ground.
(Ares POV)
I felt the cold, asphalt ground press against my skin. I was extremely tired. Was I dying? I tried to prevent myself from sleeping, but I can't help it. My eyelids feel heavy. I drifted away.
