Jaden Inferno, a 23 years old demon hunter who was ridiculed by everyone around him, had always had a strange feeling of un-fulfillment. On the day of the Dungeon Raid, all the hunters participating died in action except for the badly wounded Jaden. The incident had mysteriously unlocked memories hidden deeply within Jaden, and made him realize that he had been living in Lacrima, a virtual world filled with artificially generated conscious humans. He then decided to go on a journey to uncover the truth of his involvement in this wicked experiment.
His first trip took Jaden to the futuristic Bae City where he met the members of Team Nora, encountered evil gangs and drug dealers, and was introduced to the Keys of Azerrak. And along with Artemis Stormcloud, who happened to be Mado's Real Life's classmate, Aya, Jaden defeated the demi-litch and obtained the Copper Key. He then made a pact with Aya to find her cousin, Affaf, in exchange for borrowing her ship.
Jaden's second adventure was on the small village of Baylin. There, Jaden met a soft spoken boy named Eugene Osler whose guilt taken over his life when his childhood friend got taken away. Jaden discovered that Eugene was his Real Life friend, Majd, and restored his memories. After successfully completing his Sacred Duty, Eugene took few swordmanship lessons from Jaden, and the two sat off to the 5th Level.
En route on their journey, Jaden and Eugene were attacked by a strange ship, and were forced to land on a planetoid near the edge of the 4th Level. The duo found themselves in the seamless town of Maplewood where segregation was its major issue. A mysterious masked man named Death Gun reeked terror into people's lives in a series of attempted murders, and used a girl named Julia to search for the Glitch. But the two boys joined the forces of both the North and South sides to overcome their differences, and defeat Death Gun's plans.
Julia turned out to be Safi; Mado and Majd's Real Life friend. And Petra, a girl from the Southside, who happened to be Noor; Mado's sister's friend from Real Life. The two girls eventually decided to accompany Jaden on his journey into the 5th Level. Their goal is to gather the Seven Keys of Azerrak which will grant them the one wish that will take them back home. And so, the adventure continues...
