I had just heard the news of my mothers death two hours ago before her funeral and now I'm back at the castle, in the throne room, thinking of what might happen to me now that I have nowhere left to go when I heard what the messenger said next. "Prince Shujin, you are the new king of Ōkoku and the master of the last neko of Ōkoku, miss Asa Eikko Mikki." The messenger said.
Shujin looks over at me with a glare. "That stupid neko girl is what got my parents killed, why should I keep her here?" He snaps at the messenger, causing me to cower in fear behind the messenger who had brought me back from my mom's funeral.
"I'm afraid your parents will states that this neko stay in the care of their son, which is you. You won't disobey your parents will no matter how much you hate this neko. Now, I must take my leave your majesty, I have more important things to do than argue with a 15 year old king." The messenger said, swiftly leaving.
Shujin looks at me and snarls, his gaze so full of hate. "Leave or stay and be killed." He says, angrily. I yelp and run out of the throne room, terrified for my life.
I kept running until I reach my room in the servant's wing of the castle. My body is trembling with fear. "Where's the kind and gentle Master I grew up with?" I ask myself tilting my head, having realized that I instictively refered to Shujin as Master without a single thought of what it means. "Well, I guess my instincts won't let me down now that he really is my master." My tail sways as I waver at my door, shaking as I walk to my dusty, old bed.
