They were already a quarter way there. The old man who ask if Elizabeth was ready to departure kept coming up and talking to her. By now she knows all most everything that's happened in his 61 years of life. His name was Davis and he was a General he has 5 kids and 6 grandchildren.... (sigh if he doesn't stop talking I'm quite literally going to have Fred kick him....) Fred was extremely agitated about General Davis being around them not to mention being loud all the time. " And my grand child was 1 year when he started...." Elizabeth started zoning Him out trying to think of something else she looked ahead her brother Luke was in the head of the crowd she wanted to ask how long until we get there but....
She casted a glance towards General Davis ( this old geezer might follow me... geez does he ever be quiet?) she heaved a heavy sigh and look towards her brother Joan who was ahead of her. Suddenly she had an idea " General Davis." she said giving him a smile. "hmm? Yes? " the old man gruffed in question. "As much as I would like to hear about you grandchild.... I have to go speak with Prince Luke, I'm sure Prince Joan would love to hear about your story's. " she gave the old man a gentle smile waiting for his reply. "Ah yes. Prince Joan I'll tell him every thing so he can tell you later have a good talk Princess." he gave a smile of his own. She drove her heel into Fred's side to make him speed up until she got into pace with her brother Luke. Luke gazed at her questionably but he didn't say anything. She looked behind her to find Joan and General Davis having a pleasant chat, they were both laughing about something but she did not care atleast she got away from his talking. She let out a long sigh. Luke casted a glance at her and finally spoke up " I am guessing you wish to speak to me?" he kept his eye on the road while asking. She looked at him and nodded " What is it Eli?" "How long is it gonna take to get there? we've been riding since this morning and now its mid-day." Luke looked at his sister and heaved a deep sigh " We're gonna be stationed there for a while.... atleast until more guards show up from the war... so there is no need to hurry but we will be their by noon." "Oh okay ." She nodded she went silent again deep in thought. This made her brother a little worried " Is something wrong?" she looked up from Fred's mane and looked at her brother " it's just.... well..." she started to hesitate
" Well what?" Luke asked questionally tilting his head to the side his blond hair shifting in the light wind " it's just there are werewolves and vampires around the city we're going to right?" She couldn't say she wasn't worried about the presence of the mystical creatures. Her brother smiled " Well yes they are but you needn't worry about that..." he paused a moment as if trying to choose the right words " You see a werewolf is not like us but... they can be killed with a sword it just takes a little more effort...
a vampire is.... well.... hm..." he thought about it for a moment then sighed
" A vampire can be hard to take down.
but it isn't impossible." he looked at her once more " It's better not to worry about it though." he turned his gaze back to the road ahead and fell silent. They stayed quiet for the rest of the trip.....
Just as the sun began to set
they reached Melida. Elizabeth was in awe the last time she had been here she was Francis's age she couldn't believe how much it had changed. Back then the roads were made of dirt now their gravel roads leading from building to building. The only thing that didn't change was the dark looming forest.
The swan forest
