"Prohibere." I faintly heard Ibis order before the lashes of the whip and stabs of the spear finally stopped.
"You seem to be in pain my champion...would you wish for your Magistra to rescue you from it?" Ibis sighed, my legs buckling underneath me as I was tempted to fall down and say yes.
Never, especially not to her.
"Go s-soar into a f-fire..." I coughed out, blood pouring down my sides, from my mouth, and out my nose like a crime scene before Ibis let out a hellish screech before the guards suddenly started their torture all over again.
Another while had passed...I was going numb and light-headed, I was certain at this point that I was going to die sooner or later if this continued but...strangely, I was okay with it. I was stubborn as a mule and, in my former world, I was more than capable of handling a few punches. Guess the bastards back there would've never assumed I could stand this as well.
"Give in dog or you shall die," Ibis said as she dared to stalk over to me and tip my head up with her talon, my vision blurry as I once again shook my head.
"You foolish-"
"I refuse to apologize!" I forced out.
"Saving people and helping out others...it was the right thing to do whether you like it or not so spare me the small talk and just kill me," I said weakly, forcing myself to keep my eyes open as Ibis went silent on me.
"Get her out of my sight." Ibis spat, swiping her talon away.
"Let the odds decide if she is truly needed." She hissed before I felt the shackles disappear, allowing me to fall onto the ground before another flurry of feathers engulfed me.
Only this time? I passed out from it.
Once I had finally came around, my entire body aching like nothing I've ever felt before in my entire life, I was soon greeted by the sight of two wolves lying on each side of me, my ears starting to perk and twitch to the twitters and chirps of birds while my mouth watered to the smell of fresh nectar mixed with herbs.
"W-Where am I...?" I groaned as I tried to raise my head, the sudden excruciating pain from my back immediately making me lower my head right back down.
"Please don't move around too much Lady Eos!" Gasped someone, a fair-skinned goblin girl rushing over to me with a bowl.
"H-Huh? Where am I?"
"You're in the medical tent...the wolves found you dying in the middle of the fields." She said, a sigh leaving me as I started to dart my eyes around, boredom already starting to kick in.
"When will I be able to move around?" "Not for another day or so, the village is extremely worried about you my lady! You need to rest." She said before she slid me a bowl that smelled like honey.
'...Tastes like home.' I thought fondly as I slowly lapped up the warm liquid, the substance reminding me of my Mom's tea when I had a sour throat.
Though...I can't help but destroy those happy thoughts with the memories of what happened last night. The one who gave me this collar...Ibis, I'll continue to say it until I die in this world if I have to! I'm extremely grateful to her for bringing me back to life instead of letting me float in an eternal darkness for the rest of eternity! But, she didn't understand that I wasn't just another one of her lackeys that would do anything she said just because she was powerful. Soon she would figure it out, be it the hard way or the easy way, I'm not a slave and I never would be! I was human first and she was going to treat me as such no matter how long it would take or how many times I would have to suffer injuries like this.
'Though...I wonder if there is a way to get rid of this collar-"
"Something bothering you Beta?" One of the wolves suddenly asked me as he stared at me with puppy-eyes flooding with concern.
I stared at him, dumbfounded for a moment before I simply chuckled. "Nah, I'm all good." I grinned.
"Just a bit bored from all this lying around!"
"You must heal until you are at full strength Beta. After all, you shall be naming us yes? The wolf asked, his words making me tilt my head a little.
"Naming you? Y'all don't have names?"
"Though our former Beta made it seem so Sabre-Wolves are normally as weak as the goblins. We can only be granted names by powerful beings such as yourself Beta."
"Then what made the old one so strong." I chuckled lightly, the wolf simply letting out a sigh before he shook his head.
"No one knows, the pack once rumored that he had been given a name." He explained.
Naming an entire village? Sounds more boring than being in here, to be honest, but at least it would give me a chance to start identifying people! Not like I could call people 'goblin' or 'wolf' for the entire time.
'Guess I should start thinking of some names then.' I yawned, the rushing thoughts of potential names slowly making me drift back to sleep, the feeling of the wolves beside me, and the fact I was safe within the village making it even more comfortable.
