Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: At Worlds End

In a place beyond space and time, a dread god looked down in envious boredom at creation. As a seed of malicious discontent was formed. He would create a new world a dark world full of blood and full of conflict and his days would be spent watching the carnage.

From the souls of the dammed he created Wisps In granted to them the power to fulfill his wishes and enforce his commandments.

Those who find and kill will be rewarded accordingly.

And those without Passion or drive will be left to die consumed by the strong on their ascension.

The dread God named his creation the dark world And slowly began to fill it with nightmare creatures he had created. To sit and wait for the sentiment life he would soon banish to the dark world.

"It's unfortunate, but not a surprise." Explained Kain as he held a glowing hourglass in his hands as his three companions starred at the magical sands that followed within it. "The magic of this artifact will only let one of us go back if it even works."

In their possession they held the Chronos Hour Glass. A mystical item believed to contain a portion of the god of times essence An item that would allow one of their number to go back into the past save humanity from the dark world and the abyss where the survivors all perished. Freshly looted from the Tomb of the Titan King.

.

Gaby raised her head, her auburn locks of hair flowing past her hood. "Then we choice while we still have time, but you already know who I'd pick." She said as her gaze shifted towards the youngest among them.

The most heavily armored among them, a man who carried a sword many times the size of himself stood up, "It should be me. I'm the strongest among us. I can save them."

Kane laughed good-naturedly. "No Jacob, it can't be you. You're not just the strongest, you're the luckiest too. But you killed too many people on your way up. They would never follow or trust you. No offense intended. It should be me who goes."

"Kane, nobody doubts your ability or resourcefulness, but it can't be you either, just like it can't be me," Gaby responded shaking her head sadly.

"Of course it can't be you," Hissed Jacob. "How much trouble have you caused over the years for us by showing mercy to enemies we should have destroyed? How many of our followers died because of you? You invited into our lives just as much misery as I caused."

"Agreed," Admitted Gaby, "I haven't been quite as ruthless as you all, and wouldn't be as ruthless as I need to be I'm sure, but the answer to who should go is right in front of us. It should be Daniel like we've talked about."

Thunder crashed in the distance as the rock began to shake with massive disbursement of energy. The three of them stopped arguing knowing that time was short as the bodies of the abyssal titans began to approach. A grim look crossed all of their faces.

"It needs to be Daniel. He climbed last, he heard our stories, he can walk the path we laid, the paths us three had to carve for ourselves. He'll be able to use his knowledge of the future in a way that we wouldn't be able to." Gaby looked at them all waiting for them to acknowledge and the look they returned to let her know they all agreed, "Aye, he's got the Lucky Seven passive ability".

Looks of regret passed along each of their faces. That the abyssal titans where here now meant they truly were alone. The rest of the 100, the last army of humanity must have died. The abyssal titans stood alone, apex predators within the abyss, but even than these four years before would have been able to destroy them. But time had not been kind, the constant battles had worn down their strength and sapped their power. Death was going for them.

Gaby sighed. her face full of regret. "It's been fun you guys but come on Daniel, time to get to it, you've a mission."

The final member of their group, Daniel Kim stood up and shook out his black hair. "I was hoping you'd save yourself. "

"Sorry kid," Replied Jacob as he threw a hand over his back. "Its gotta be you. For all those reasons she said, and so much more. Don't cry over me, just stay alive and change things. And don't forget, if you get the chance to kill that bastard Micah, do so. Him and all of his filthy traitorous followers."

With that, the strongest man bonded away in a single leap as his armor began to shine and become engulfed in smokey energy and his towering blade turned black with a crimson edge as he met the titans head-on in battle.

"I was really hoping to not die today," laughed Kain. "Do what you can to help humanity, but don't help too much, don't endanger your own growth. You need to get so strong so quickly. You're the only one who can. Don't let anyone hold you back, and never forget how petty people can be. Don't just kill Micah, Kill that Fisherman too. Kill all of all of them."

Kain struck out his hand and Daniel took it, embracing his oldest friend before the man held his staff between his hands and split himself into four, each part representing a different aspect of nature as he flew threw the air casting spells of lightning, fire, earth, and ice as he joined Jacob in battle against the titans.

Gaby was the last. "I'm sorry that this responsibility falls on you. It will not be an easy road. Try to keep them all alive we had billions if only but a handful more had joined us it would have made all the difference. You're the only one who will remember this feature make whatever choices you need to. Don't hesitate not even if you meet us again, Not even if we become enemies. I buried my dog under the shade of the Redwood tree. If you need to prove who you say you are that is something I have told no one else."

Not far away Jacob collapsed to the ground as an abyssal titan drove a cleft blade through his armored torso. Kain responded by unleashing an elemental cataclysm the spell quickly faltered as each of his aspects was torn asunder by the titans.

With no time remaining, Gabby put her hand on the hourglass and commanded to send Daniel back in time to the beginning. "Don't' waste this," She whispered as she fell lifelessly on the ground as Daniel was lit up in a ball of energy and teleported elsewhere.

His last thoughts before passing out were "Thank you, my friends. I will never forget you. I'll see again you as soon as I can."
