Chapter 60 - So, You Like This Kind
Fu Beichen was currently having a video call meeting with several military leaders in the room.
His laptop was laid on the table before him, while he held the handphone in his hand, idly reading the messages that Gu Nanyu sent him.
When he read the latest message, Fu Beichen instantly choked on the tea that he was drinking.
Luckily, he did not completely lose his composure. He hastily swallowed the remaining liquid in his mouth and let out a few coughs.
At that moment, the people in the meeting immediately turned silent and stared at the large screen with trepidation.
"Senior Officer, is there something wrong with our plans?"
"No, no. Please continue." Fu Beichen managed to put on a calm facade.
The meeting proceeded as usual, but Fu Beichen's attention had long been taken away by the abrupt distraction.
When the meeting ended, Fu Beichen left the room and asked Jiang Yishan.
"Did he listen to the doctor?"
"Yes, hes sleeping now." Jiang Yishan had been keeping a close eye on that room.
As Fu Beichen ambled over, Gu Nanyu coincidentally stepped out of the room.
When Gu Nanyu saw Fu Beichen, she casually asked, "What did you do to Little Ze?"
Even though Little Ze was quite introverted, he would not be so repulsed by another person without any logical reason.
Fu Beichen merely peered at the ward indifferently and replied, "I merely changed his psychologist."
Gu Nanyu finally understood why Little Ze detested Fu Beichen. After all, Little Ze had been seeing the same psychologist since he was very young.
Because Little Ze lost his parents at such a young age, his emotional welfare heavily depended on Gu Nanyu and this particular psychologist.
Now that Fu Beichen wished to change his psychologist, it was natural that he would spite him.
"Little Ze is different from other children. If you suddenly swap his doctor, it would merely worsen his condition."
Gu Nanyu was extremely unhappy with how Fu Beichen one-sidedly made the decisions for Little Ze.
However, he did not offer any explanations and merely glanced at her, before turning around to leave.
Even as Gu Nanyu trailed behind and yelled at him, he turned a deaf ear to all the noise.
When they arrived at the hospital's main entrance, Fu Beichen stepped into his car and lowered the front passenger seat's window.
"Get in."
"Why?" She especially despised his ice-cold expression and his penchant for not providing any explanations.
"Don't you have to go to school?" Fu Beichen raised his brow sarcastically.
Oh, he's trying to fetch me to school.
Just cut to the point, then. Why does he want to act cool?
After Gu Nanyu entered the car, Fu Beichen started the engine and drove away.
During the ride, the radio channel was broadcasting a relationship counseling session.
A man had called the radio to complain about all the difficulties and hardships in his marriage life.
"Host, my marriage seems to have come to a standstill. My relationship with my wife is miserably cold. I want to warm up and rekindle our connection, do you have any suggestions?"
The radio host answered his question patiently in a sweet and gentle voice.
"Can I ask if you know the reason why it has come to this? When did your relationship start turning sour?"
"Uhm...this is a little hard to pinpoint…"
"Mister, don't worry. We won't publicize any personal information about the callers. After all, we are a safe platform for you to voice your pains."
"It's probably...probably since...I was injured. After that, my body won't respond properly even if I wanted to in some matters."
After the guests had finished speaking, the host turned awkwardly silent. However, she regained her cool swiftly and quickly reacted by offering some advice.
"The harmony between a husband and wife is deeply entrenched in their connection in bed. Mister, I suggest that you communicate with your wife openly, so that you can choose an appropriate hospital to seek proper treatment…"
As the host continued, Gu Nanyu's face suddenly turned red in embarrassment.
"So, it seems that you like this kind of channel." As she stared at Fu Beichen, her eyes seemed a little ambiguous.
