Chapter 35 - You Like Being Mischievous, Don't You?

After she had completed the admission procedures, Gu Nanyu took out her phone to search for her homeroom teacher's phone number and called her to take a sick leave.

Gu Nanyu's academic performance had always been poor, yet she kept taking many days off and did not even bother to improve.

As she was requesting a day off, her homeroom teacher said crossly, "Alright, I got it. You're always making up excuses to take a day off. The National College Entrance Examination is around the corner, you should at least start cramming at the last minute, so that you don't pull down the average score of your class."

"Teacher, this method doesn't work for me. Whenever I do that, it will kick me in the guts and backfire instead." Gu Nanyu knew that her homeroom teacher was stern on the outside but soft on the inside, hence she made a joke.

The homeroom teacher was stunned for a second before replying, "Then, I hope it will kick you to death!"

"I won't do it as I do not wish to be kicked." When Gu Nanyu heard her homeroom teacher's voice, she thought of the pain of leaving her school during her past life. She immediately understood that sincere advice always sounded harsh to the ear.

"You love being mischievous, don't you?" The homeroom teacher could not help but pick on her. She proceeded to remind her in a serious tone, "Come to class after you're done with your matter. I've taken a look at your trial exam results and I feel that they can still be saved."

Gu Nanyu agreed repeatedly. She did not know that her results could be saved before this, but Gu Nanyu wanted to at least try to save it now.

After Gu Nanyu had obtained her permission, she ambled back to her ward.

She was living in a mixed ward, where she had to share the room with two other people.

Xize was still sleeping when Gu Nanyu returned. Then, she slowly approached Gu Xize and gently touched his forehead. The fever had already subsided, and the wound on his hand had also been bandaged by the nurse.

At that moment, a patient from the neighboring bed saw the young Gu Nanyu taking care of a child on her own.

Hence, he asked, "Young lad, is this your younger brother? He has such a high fever, where's your family?"

Gu Nanyu was taken aback for a moment, before replying, "My family is not here anymore."

The neighboring patient did not expect such an answer, so he spoke apologetically, "I'm sorry."

"It's alright," Gu Nanyu calmly replied.

As they were talking, a new patient entered the ward.

It was a woman who was carrying a little boy. The little boy had hurt his arm after a fall and would be hospitalized for further observation.

Gu Nanyu did not notice them at first, but when the woman turned around, Gu Nanyu realized that she was the woman who made a fuss when they were lining up.

Gu Nanyu shrugged her shoulders as she thought to herself. Such bad luck.

The woman soon noticed Gu Nanyu as well. After a moment of shocked silence, her face lit up with anger.

"How can a piece of trash like her be here? Nurse…nurse!" The woman placed her child on the bed before shouting for the nurse, "I want to switch to a different ward!"

As Xize was sick, she must make sure the room was quiet. Hence, Gu Nanyu did not stoop to her level of rudeness.

At that moment, the nurse came in. When she heard that the patient wanted to move to a different ward, she said to her gently, "I'm sorry, madam, all of our wards are currently occupied, there are no vacant rooms for your son to move into."

When the woman heard the nurse, she immediately started fuming in anger. "Are you looking down on us? What do you mean by there are no more empty rooms? Aren't the wards on the top floor empty?"

Everyone knew that the top floor area in this hospital was reserved for VIP patients. Normal civilians, no matter how rich they were, could never get in there.

Since the area was reserved for the senior officials in the army, it even had a special elevator and was completely separated from this area.

Even if some lower-ranked leaders from the army were hospitalized, they would normally be admitted to a private ward in the common area and not to the top floor.

This was an unspoken rule. Even though no one had made it clear, most of the people here definitely knew it.
