ROSE
"Rose wake up" my eyes shot open as mom shouted near my ear.
"How did I get here?" I whispered as my head throbbed in pain.
"We told you not to go in the basement without our permission, you disobeyed, pay attention here" dad shouted too.
God I'm dead, how the hell I ended up in my room, I was in the basement, flashbacks started replaying in my mind and shivers went down my spine. Those horrific red eyes will always be a nightmare for me.
"Don't play deaf , what were you doing in the basement?" dad asked again, while I tried to regain my consciousness.
"I saw something down there dad, I Don't know how to explain it" I said and narrated everything before I fainted in the basement.
I knew they wouldn't believe me, there was nothing else then complete shock written on their faces and silence.
"Take rest, we'll discuss this on coming Sunday, and don't say a word to your brothers" dad said while looking at mum and she nodded in agreement.
As they left my room I sighed and hit my pillow with frustration and suspense, what's dad hiding from me, and this time mum is taking his side too.
Maybe they think I was hallucinating. God what should I do? I already skipped school today, why did it have to happen now? My life is so miserable.
As I lay back on my bed, a sweet aroma of lasagna hit my nose and my stomach rumbled with hunger.
Without wasting a minute I reached downstairs straight to the kitchen.
"What are you doing down here, you should be taking a rest, you already skipped school today" mum asked.
"Mum please I'm starving" I said slowly while sitting on a chair.
"Fine enough with your dramas, let your brothers come first" she said while giving me glares.
After few minutes all four of my brothers were sitting with me, and my bad luck Nick was sitting right beside me and it was becoming impossible for me to stop myself from asking him about last night. I looked at my mum who maybe was aware of the situation and glared at me, which worked as breaks for keeping my mouth shut.
"Alex, what about today's homework from school?" I asked while ignoring Nick, who was busy moving pieces of lasagna here and there on his plate and irritating me.
"Not much, your luck" he mocked.
"Shut up" I said while glaring at him.
"Nick, if you're not going to eat it, I've already got my eyes on this," Jack said and burst into laughter.
"Don't even think about it Jacky jerky" Nick said with anger while taking a big bite.
"I agree with Jacky jerky, you should give him, he's always hungry, now eating our brains" I said to release the tension which was now increased.
"I agree too" Alex said while he burst into laughter and spilled water all over his empty plate.
"Keep your mouths shut all of you, start acting like grownups" dad shouted.
As dad sat on the dining table, there was pin drop silence, we all were looking at each other's faces and trying to escape dad's glares. Suddenly I heard a funny tone, which I realized was coming from Nick, as I looked at him, unexpectedly he was trying hard to stop himself from laughing. Few minutes later he burst into laughter and we all looked at him in shock.
"Well that was unexpected" Jack said while putting hand on his mouth.
"Yeah that was" I agreed while bursting into laughter.
As I looked at Nick, shock was written on his face. Maybe he remembered something from last night.
And suddenly I saw his eye color changing from blue to black.
"Are you okay?" I asked with curiosity.
"Yeah I'm fine" he said and his eye color changed back to blue.
"Cool" I said while picking up my plates.
"Please take mine too," Alex said while giving me a cocky smile.
"You got such a lazy ass, I'm gonna tender it someday, just hang in there" I said while taking his plate.
"No you're not going to do that, don't threaten me, I know I'm your favourite brother" he said while laughing.
"Whatever you idiot" I said while rolling my eyes.
"Enough with your drama kids" dad shouted.
"God, Jonathan, why do you always shout that my ears are hurting?" mum said while rolling her eyes.
I went straight to the kitchen, so I won't get caught up in some other family drama. I washed plates and went back to my room. After washing my hands I looked at my reflection in the mirror, God when did I start getting those black circles around my eyes? I sit on my bed while opening my school bag. After taking out my notebooks, I went to Alex's room, who was busy watching movies.
I banged on his door,
"Alex, open up"
As the door opened, I pushed him aside while jumping on his bed.
" Just do my homework brother, for this once" I requested.
"Fine, you're such a manipulator," he said while snatching the notebooks.
"That's why you're my favorite brother, just put them back in my bag when you're done I'm going to take a nap, I'm feeling dizzy" I said while getting off from his bed.
As I came out of his room, all that happened last night started to replay once again. God, why can't I forget it, I thought while closing my room's door.
I lay down on my bed and snuggled into one of my pillows and sleep took over.

Someone dragged the blanket off my legs and I jolted in my bed, lights were off, it was dark outside, wait a second I slept a few minutes earlier. I tried to stare into darkness to find the source of noise coming from the corner of my room. After failing for the second time I slowly got off my bed and moved slowly towards the corner. I only took two steps towards the corner . Suddenly two ruby red eyes became visible and I shivered in terror. I slowly started taking steps back to my bed but slipped on the mat, and heard the same growl from last night.
I slowly moved back but was dragged back, I screamed at the top of my lungs, but the weight on the top of me was so much that my screams caged in my chest and I felt helpless.
"Please don't hurt me" I cried.
Those red eyes were staring at me like I was the bait, suddenly the large fury face started becoming visible. It was horrific, air was trapped in my lungs and I started having trouble breathing. I gathered all my energy and shouted again,
"MOM, DAD HELP ME…"
Someone shook me and my eyes shot open. My mum and dad were standing beside my bed, tears trickling down my cheeks in terror. Thank God it was a dream or I would've been as good as dead.
"No one is hurting you, I see your mind is still stuck at what happened last night, just note that, that wolf will never hurt you" mum said while squeezing my shoulder.
"That's not possible, that wolf was abnormally large, probably the same as the size of a horse, and how are you so sure?" I asked as my hands started freezing.
"That was Nick," dad said.
"What does that mean, my brother just turned into that beast, how's that possible?" I shouted in terror, and my heart started hammering in my chest.
"Yes and we all are the same, we decided to reveal this to you and Alex at your eighteenth birthday" dad said.
I looked at my parents in horror, my eyes went wide, they were serious, oh my God I'm a monster too, flesh eating monsters, my whole family is like that too. All of the sudden my head becomes heavy and I fall back on my bed.
"Jonathan look at her, this is your fault you shouldn't have told her, this is on you if something happened to her" I heard my mum shouting.
"Relax Isabelle, she's shocked she'll be fine, one day she was about to find that out anyway" dad said.
My head became heavier and darkness blocked my vision...
