As the discription was very simple it didn't take much time for Ashok to understand.
"As expected from a scholar; these trash like stats which is only focused on intelligence"
In God Retribution Online.
The stats decide the ranking of players in the game, while level only exist to provide free stat point; whenever someone levels up. Choosing a occupation will not allow the player to freely allocate these stat point according to him.
Until he meet a certain threshold.
'If I remember correctly the first threshold was stats 30 and didn't bothered with it anymore.'
"Let's see what the item is about"muttered Ashok with curiousity and open his inventory on the screen before him and a inventory with unlimited slots opened up. but only one item was available there with the name of Ashok Personal Diary.
[Ashok Personal Diary]
Rank:???
Item: Consumable type (1/1)
This diary records the personal experience of Ashok Yadav life and his journey to become a scholar and the story behind his demise.
(Note: Using this item you will inherit the knowledge of scholar Ashok Yadav with his grief and destiny.
Special Quest will be automatically generated
'Ashok Yadav Grief')
Seeing the message Ashok didn't think much about it. After all from now on he will have to live as Ashok Yadav and without the knowledge about him; he cannot move forward and interact with people around him and click on use options below the Diary.
Tons of information entered Ashok mind and life experience of Ashok Yadav appeared before him like a movie as his facial expressions change from time to time. Sometimes he is happy, something in great pain and crying while tears flew from this eyes ;without stopping. Sometimes laughing like a mad man while rolling on the floor.
Finally the abnormal continues change of mood and emotion stopped as Ashok opened his eyes and take a look breath to control his emotions which went out of control sometimes ago.
"I never thought that using the item will cause such a effect"muttered Ashok and look at his body which is sweating.
Ding..
[Congratulations, you have successfully inherited Ashok Yadav memories, life experience and knowledge]
Ding..
[You have unlocked the special Quest: Ashok Grief]
[Ashok Grief(Chain Quest)(Rank:???)
Ashok is the most talented and knowledge person in Greenwood Village but after attending the imperial academy exams, he came to know that; he is nothing before a true Scholar after failing the test and becoming a joke among the scholars of Imperial academy while his pride as a genius took a hit and decided to commit suicide as he knew that he can never become a true Scholar and let's his village name be spread throughout the Imperial City.
Quest content(Part-1)(Rank???): Ashok Yadav last wish was to become a true scholar and get the recognition of the academy. As you have inherited his knowledge, it's your responsibility to make it happen.Increase your knowledge and experience to widen your world view.
Quest reward: Experience point based on your life experience.
Gold: The money you send during the quest will be returned back to you.
Time period: One year.
Looking at the discription of the quest and the reward. Ashok pinched himself in his hand and felt the pain.
"This really is not a dream? How can a quest which return back all the money used during the quest and Experience point have no upper limit and given on evaluation of the quest"thought Ashok and look again and again at the quest discription and found its really is the case.
I remembered. I had spend billions of gold coin during every exploration quest and even have to borrow money from the big guilds.
Only after completing those exploration was I able to pay back the money and only had some hundred thousand gold coin left with me.
Just as Ashok thinking about past events. He got a system notification.
Ding....
Quest Ashok Grief (Part-1): completed
System has detected the vast knowledge and experience possessed by the user. please wait for the evaluation to be completed.
Evaluation currently 0.01%
Time remaining: 24hours
"This... system must have detected my memories and past experience"Ashok looked at the system panel for some time and closer it.
"Let's go I still have work to do"thought Ashok as he wear his t-shirt and left the room.
From the information he got from Ashok Yadav Dairy.
He was already sure that this place is the world of Antack and currently he is the newbie village called Greenwood which is under the rule of Sahara Empire; which is the starting Empire of all indian players and the imperial academy exams are conducted in imperial city and is at the distance of a week on horse and nearest town is at a distance of 10km.
The imperial academy exams is the class advancement quest.Where one will get his basic class of Scholar,Martial Artists,Soldier and Performers after they reach level thirty otherwise they will have false added to their status beside their occupation.
Coming out of the room Ashok found himself that the middle aged man is moving around while carrying iron bars to towards the storage room beside his workshop.
The house was not so big with two rooms, a kitchen, bathroom, storeroom and a blacksmith workshop attached to it.
This middle aged man name is Ranjan Yadav and the only blacksmith of Greenwood Village .
Ashok is his brother son,who died in the war against the Gale Empire and her wife also died in the grief of her husband dead some months later when Ashok was just ten years old.
To Ashok, his uncle is the most respected and most important person in his life; he never let Ashok feel the absence of his parents and rise him like his own son.
He finally got the reason why this person made him felt so familiar.
In his previous life, Ashok started his journey from this newbie village until he became a level 15 player and meeting with Ranjan was his daily schedule to get the daily quests of cutting wood for the furnace and carrying the raw material to his workshop.
In the process he had become friends with him and highest favourably in the village.
But he never told him about his nephew or got to know about it from villagers.
"This guy must have went through a lot of pain in his life. May be his nephew got saved by him for the first time but he tried to commit suicide again and successful executed his plan. While Ashok Grief must be a hidden quest which cannot be triggered unless one meet some certain criteria.
Otherwise D rank reputed NPC will be one of the main NPC in the village. After all village chief is also a D rank reputed NPC and are civil servant of must basic level asigned by the empire for the management of villages.
Ashok had a bitter smile
'Most NPC of beginning levels are basically forgotten by the players as they advance to higher stages of the game. The only reason why I even remembered Ranjan was due to S rank chain quest which he triggered later.'
"Origin of Victory of day"
Just thinking about the legendary Sword and national treasure of Sahara Empire made his blood boil and his curiousity kicked in and started breathing quickly. After all the future creator of the legendary Sword is before him.
Ranjan who was carrying the iron bars to the storeroom notice the abnormal change in his nephew breathing and run towards him in panic.
"What happened Ashok?"asked Ranjan as he place his hand on his forehead and to check if he got fever or something.
But found that his body temperature is normal.
"Don't worry uncle. I just remembered something got me excited that's why. I forgot to breath for a moment"
Ranjan looked at his nephew who was smiling at him.
After coming back from the imperial capital and failing the test.
Half a month ago, He had stopped going out of the house and locked himself up inside his room. Yesterday he went out for the first time and tried to commit suicide and he was still worried that he will again try to do something like committing suicide and didn't want to get his eyes of him.
Just after waking up he was pretending that he had lost all his memories.
He wouldn't have even let him go to village school to teach childrens. If village chief had not request him and told him that he will personally pick him up and drop him on the door of his house.
"Are you sure you are ok?"asked Ranjan
"I am totally fine uncle and was looking at you carrying the iron bars.I was thinking about helping you carry them to the storehouse"
Ranjan looked at his nephew and nodded.
"If you want to help I will not stop you but make sure that you don't get injured and beware to not pick them up from the rusty side"
Ashok nodded
Ding...
You have triggered a quest
Helping hands(Rank F):Help Ranjan carry hundred iron bars from the entrance of the workshop to the storehouse.
Reward: Ten exp points and 3silver(Rewarded by the system)
Accept or reject
Ashok choose accept icon and started
pick up the iron bars which were placed beside the entrance of the workshop and one by one and carry them inside the storeroom.
It took him a hour to complete the quest. Making his entire body covered in sweat and sat down to calm his heartbeats.
"Really endurance of a scholar is just trash"as he breath fast so that more air can enter his lungs while looking at his uncle who is still going on and only stopped after carrying the last iron bars into the storeroom.
Coming out of the storeroom Ranjan looked at Ashok with a smile with a forehead covered in sweat, but his breath were calm and uniform.
"How are you feeling Ashok?"asked Ranjan with a smile.
"Refreshed but tired"
Ranjan nodded"I have already filled the bathtub with water; Go and take a bath while I make the breakfast"
Ashok nod and stood up slowly to walk towards the bathroom.
The bathroom was beside the workshop.
On entering the bathroom to take a bath and open the system panel.
Quest: helping hands complete
Ashok clicked on it and exp points to added to his occupation and 3silver coin inside his inventory and closed the system panel to enjoy the bath.
By the time Ashok came out of the bath. The breakfast was still not completed so Ashok decided to take out a copy from the book selves and write down his future plans.
This was one of the thing which Ashok always do before going for any exploration.
1. Increasing the stats and reputation
2. Attain a position in village where he can attract the attention of the players
3. Complete his class advancement quest for basic class.
These three things will be his main aim for now,Ashok decided.
When he heard his uncle voice and went to dinning room to eat the breakfast and uncle told him that village chief will be coming here to pick him up and take him to village school.
First, he wanted to reject his uncle and tell him not to worry, because he had no plan of trying to commit suicide again but looking at his worried face, Ashok remained silent.
At 8am sound of knocking can be heard from the front door of the house.
Uncle opened the door and Ashok saw a elderly man with long white beard and holding a stick on his hand.
"Hello, Ashok how are you?"
Asked the elder man with a smile.
