It was an October Morning where the weather started to get chilly and students started wearing jackets over there uniforms. If there was one thing great about Riverside MS was that the view of the river was beautiful. It was the one thing that kept Sarah calm.
It was 7:35, people didn't come to class till 7:50. Yet there Sarah was sketching the outside view while sipping on some Gatorade she got from the deli.
As Sarah was drawing she heard the door squeak open, a girl with a brown ponytail came in. Her uniform skirt was very short which was not in the school's policy and had a red bow that went with the dress, it was more of a creative style than Sarah's curly long afro that made her look like Frankenstein. When she noticed Sarah she smiled and waved, Sarah waved back awkwardly still wondering how the hell this girl got in the school building when it wasn't open. She sat next to one of the twin desks right next to Sarah and pulled out a small book and started writing in there. " Of Course," Sarah thought writing in a little book pad is such a girly thing to do.
"Whatcha doing here this early in the morning," she asked
"Nothing..thought I could get some peace and quiet before school started"
"SAME..these freaking children are noisier than my parents," she said rolling her eyes.
We both giggled.
"It's pretty weird how come we never talked to you before in homeroom" she wondered.
"I'm basically invisible girl to most people in this school"
"Really you seem like a cool person since you draw and stuff"
"Thx, you like to write stories I see"
"I love them, my dad is an author and I wanna be just like him"
"Wow, that's pretty cool, I just wanna be an illustrator when I get older"
"Don't these type of jobs never pay you"
"Well its the only thing I'm good at,... I mean at least you have a father to look up to."
"What I bet your dad is a total legend for raising such a cool daughter"
Sarah smiled awkwardly not replying back, truth was her father was nowhere near a Legend. Sarah heard the bells ring and heard footsteps on the stairs. Sarah turned to the ponytail girl and both of them rolled there eyes.
"Things are about to get noisy," Sarah said.
The ponytail girl got up and picked up her backpack and book pad.
" I should probably go back to my desk if you don't mind," she said.
" Ok"
"Oh...by the way"
Sarah turned to her.
"I never got your name"
"I'm Sarah, Sarah Brooks" Sarah replied
"oooo, chic"Sarah said walking to her desk.
"wait..what about you"
The ponygirl smiled and turned to Sarah, the sun was still rising and lighting that was portraying her was beautiful.
" Its Sally, Sally Jimson," she said.
