Chapter 44 - Training for a Rescue

Mia went with the General to his base of operations. "First thing we need to do is get you some new clothes." General Adams told Mia. "Can't have our newest assets running around in a bikini, now can we? Speaking of which, why are you in a bikini?"

"We thought we would be traveling to our world's ocean, so a bathing suit seemed logical." Mia answered.

"Makes sense." Adams responded. "But why a bikini?"

"Oh, I am a girl." Mia answered. "Only natural for a girl to wear a bikini."

General Adams looked over Mia's masculine body and massive bulge in her bikini bottoms. "You look…"

"Well I am a man now!" Mia shouted. "I was a man until the Goddess made me into a woman, and then somehow coming to this world made me back into a man."

"So, you're a man?" General Adams asked.

"The Goddess decided for me to be a woman, so I am a woman." Mia answered. "I am sure I will change back into my female body when I get back to my world."

"Right." Adams said. "Moving on. I don't care what you call yourself really. All I care about are results. I assume you do not have guns in your world?"

 "What's a gun?" Mia asked.

"The thing that killed you." Adams explained. "Guns are our main weapon here on this world. We moved past swords and shields a long time ago."

"So I need to learn how to use one of these guns?" Mia asked.

"Precisely!" General Adams answered. He then threw some military fatigues at Mia. "Here put this on. Should be about your size. You have a lot of training you need to complete if you want to save your friend. Go get some sleep. Meet me in the training yard at dawn."

The next morning Mia met the General at the training yard as he instructed her to do the night before. "Okay I am here what kind of training should we do?"

"First we need to find out what your base level is." General Adams explained. "I have tests of strength, agility, and combat all prepared for you. I will use your test scores to determine the rest of your training."

"Seems reasonable." Mia answered. "Make the training as intense as you want, I need to rescue Lucy as soon as possible."

"Don't worry too much about your friend." General Adams answered. "He is too valuable for them to kill." He then turned and faced a bench press. "There is where your first test will begin. We are going to find out just how strong those muscles of yours are."

"Okay." Mia said. "What do you want me to do?"

"You see that place that looks like you could lay down on?" Adams asked.

"Yes, I see it." Mia replied.

"Lay there and lift the bar that is above it." Adams explained. "We will add more and more weight to it until you are unable to lift it."

"Alright." Mia answered as she got into position. The first weight they had prepared for her was two hundred pounds. Mia was able to lift the weight with ease. "So, when do you add the weights?" Mia asked.

"Double it." Adams said. "Put the bar down so they can add some weight to it, please."

Mia did as instructed and waited while they upped the weight on the bar to four hundred pounds. Again, Mia lifted the weight with ease. "I mean I kind of feel the weight now, but it's barely there." Mia said. "This is taking too much time. Can you speed it up?" Mia said as she put the bar back down.

"Triple it." Adams instructed. "This is more weight than any human has lifted in my world, so if you lift this, I will be most impressed."

"Here I go then." Mia said as she exhaled. She could feel the weight on the bar but it was not more than she could handle. She lifted the bar to the shock of everyone present. "This is almost as heavy as the things master used to make me lift when I was training with the church." Mia said as she thought about her old master.

"I must say I did not expect you to break the world record so easily." General Adams said. "So, your world's church trained you? That's some church."

"Yes, I was trained to be a hero." Mia explained. "But everything they told me was a lie, luckily I found the Goddess and she set me straight."

"What a fascinating world you come from." General Adams said. "So, in your world demons and gods are real?"

"Yes, it was like that in the other universe we visited as well." Mia explained. "This universe seems different though."

"Wow, I was going to have to run the obstacle course, but I am sure you would break whatever record we have for it." Adams explained. "So, we will move directly on to combat testing." The General then pointed to a large muscular soldier. "This here is my best soldier, I am sure he will give you quite the workout."

"Alright, if that's what it takes for me to get Lucy back." Mia said as she entered the circle that was drawn on the ground for the combat test. "Ready when you are."

"Begin!" Adams shouted. With that the large soldier charged towards Mia. Mia jumped into the air flipping and landing behind the large soldier. She then Kicked the man from behind causing him to fall forward onto his face. When the soldier got up he threw a punch at Mia to which she grabbed and twisted his arm causing him to flip and land on his back. "That's enough. My man just can't hang with a hero apparently." Adams then tossed Mia a pistol. "This is a gun. Very easy to use. Just put it in the direction you want dead and pull the trigger. You see those targets over there? I want you to try and shoot them."

Mia then turned her head and saw the targets. She aimed her new pistol at them and fired a volley of shots. All of her shots connected perfectly. "So, it's the same concept as a crossbow." Mia said. "That's fine then I have extensive crossbow training."

"Okay, I am sold." Adams said. "I don't need to train you. This is great! Now we can move on to the fun part. The cool weapons and equipment!"

"Cool weapons and equipment?" Mia asked.

"But of course!" Adams shouted back. "You cannot have a run-away military budget and not have the coolest weapons and equipment!"

"I don't really follow, but you seem excited." Mia said.

"Yes! Now come with me to the armory!" General Adams said as he walked off laughing happily.

Meanwhile at the international criminal organization's base, the unmarked van carrying Lucell had finally arrived. The armored men who captured him then carried the unconscious Lucell into the base. "Finally, you brought my specimen!" A crazy haired man with a lab coat shouted. "We will finally be able to achieve our goals! No longer will we be the laughing stock of the criminal underworld! They will finally see my plan to open inter dimensional portals and rob other universes of their bounties, is not crazy!"

"Yes, Dr. Schmidt." The commander of the team said. "Now where do you want your cargo?"

"Oh yes, yes!" Schmidt said. "Just look how beautiful he is! Oh, are those horns! Oh, my big muscular red savior! Now the world will know I am not crazy! HAHAHAHAH!"

"Yes, uh, doctor. Where did you want him?" The commander asked again.

"Oh right!" Schmidt said. "I am sorry. I got carried away with my maniacal laughing. You can just put him in that room I prepared over there labeled: Creatures from other universes. He is the first of many! I have a cage in there just for him. Place him there and leave us!" The men did as Schmidt instructed. "Now my beautiful red specimen, let's get down to business!"
