Chapter 5 - Part 4 - How Was Your Day?

We both sat down on a bench near the university's main building entrance. We both got candy bars and two cans of lemon soda.

"So, Kazu," Hanzo said as he chewed the candy bar. "How did your day go?"

Every day, ever since elementary, we did this thing where we would talk about our day with each other, so we would know every detail that happens with our life. We never missed a day doing that.

"Oh, you know, same as usual," I replied. It really was. Everything was the same in all my classes. Lecture, small recitation, new topic, lecture, recitation. Just that.

"I saw your Greek Mythology teacher talking to the other professors in the Literature Course Department. He said that he was impressed by you and that they expected that of you."

"Oh, that," I said, taking a deep breath. I took a bite of my candy bar. "He just asked me a question that I know the answer of, and answered more than he expected."

"Oh wow," He said. It was a genuine reaction of amazement. "I mean, I would be amazed too if I was your professor. You really are ahead on every subject in your course.

I laughed. "Not really tho. I'm only ahead on a couple of things because of research for a thing I'm going to work on."

He smiled and chuckled. "Still, that's amazing!"

I'm really happy for having him with me. He's really cheerful and infects everyone around him with his energy. Ever since we were kids, he was this supportive to me. He was one of the reasons for my motivation. He is always there to cheer me up. At this point, he's my brother.

"Eh? You're amazing too, you know! You managed to remain in the top 1 ever since the start of junior high! I can't even do that! Even with all of the things that I can do, I can't manage to do that!"

Hanzo chuckles and his face also became red. "Well, we're all amazing in our own way, right?"

I smiled. "Yeah, you're right."

"So, what did you do today?"

"I baked a cake!" He said with pure joy.

"Oh, really? Do you have some left?"

Our conversation continued until the sun sets.
