My fingernails extend into long claws and I use them to cut deeply down both of my arms. Blood starts to flow in rivulets towards the ground, but it's not enough. I run my claws across my neck and suck in a pained breath before falling to the ground on my knees. A curse lingers on my tongue, but my mouth fills with blood and no noise escapes except a gurgling sound.
I hunch over, using my arms to hold me up off the ground as the blood rushes from my neck, but I continue to hold on as long as I can. The pain was sudden and brutal, but I am familiar with it. I have harmed myself to drain my blood before so I knew what I was getting into. This time, I am stronger and I am fighting for more than just one life.
