Lei reaches through the door to access the magical security alarm behind the door. I try to remain as calm as possible as the seconds tick away, worried that if I sweat it would leave my scent and it would be evident that I was here. After a few minutes, that frustrated look on his face lights up with glee and my heart skips a beat in anticipation.
I step forward to look over his shoulder and as I get closer, I see him pause and tilt his head. "Intersting," he murmurs to himself. He looks back at me in curiousity.
"What?" I ask him when he continues to peer at me. Lei takes my hand and places it on the doorknob and bobs his way in a head that tells me he wants me to open the door. So I do, and I watch him as his grin grows into a knowing smile.
The door clicks open, and no magical protections set off that I can tell, but Lei is still looking at me weirdly.
"What?" I ask again.
"This is all just very interesting. You are very interesting."
