The speed general was extremely fast, and it was clear that it wasn't him anymore. The Blood Queen was controlling him, under the effect of this devilish woman's control and the general's original skills Feng truly might die under the sword of this flesh-covered can.
Feng's slowly looked down towards the blade that pierced his lung, his originally luxurious white hair drooping and losing all forms of presentability, his glowing red eyes slowly dimming, these features made him look like a lifeless being.
Long Hu who was normally outspoken covered his mouth in shock and fear, "F-feng, stay with me, remember that promise that we made before we went into that forest for school training,"
Feng who was slowly losing his breath spoke; probably for what seemed to be the last in his life.
"I remember, we said that we would both help each other, you using your talent to find treasures, while I used my charisma to find beauties for you,"
Long Hu bitterly laughed, "Still so cheeky even on the brink of death, we both know the deal didn't go like that, so you mustn't die!"
Someone as shameless as Long Hu begun crying in the midst of his bitter laughter. Although he and Feng were like fire and ice, Long Hu was the only male Feng's age that he felt close too aside from Torch and Tennyson. And as for Long Hu, he considered Feng to be the closest human friend he had, they both had their similarities, Long Hu was also rejected by his father, which gave him a somewhat ostentatious and independent character, so meeting Feng was like destiny to Long Hu.
Just as Feng was on his last breath, a few words that lingered at the back of his mind made their way to the empty front.
"Don't Die!", these were Torch's last words to Feng, and although they seemingly possessed no significance, the words seemed like rolling thunder to Feng who was dying.
He slowly spoke, his words becoming more intense and louder by the second,
"I don't believe in staying alive because of friendship, In fact, I detest whoever came up with that concept. However, I do believe in staying alive for different reasons. I promised torch we would meet up again and I would defeat him, and I am not done hating the old man yet. Furthermore, I haven't visited mother's grave in a while, so I won't allow you, a piece of trash to defeat me!"
He let out a loud roar, that combined all emotions of fighting intent, hatred, and sorrow. A shroud of jade green light appeared on his body; at this moment the living puppet was shocked; not because Lin Feng reached the jade rank, but because the energy he emanated was much more powerful than before.
His breathing became steady, and he pulled the blade that was embedded out of his lung. The moment that happened his lungs begun to visibly patch up and heal at an incredible rate. Proteus the parasite that lived on Feng's body was shocked and took the liberty of switching Feng's body parts with his. A dark mechanical arm covered with constant blue lines replaced Feng's human arms, and thin dark red mech legs were in the place of Feng's legs. After Proteus's continuous strengthening with spiritual energy, they had become much stronger, faster, and durable than before.
'Thank you, Proteus.' Feng says these short words and transfers a large amount of Qi that he rarely used from his body to the ring that lived in his soul; this ring contained proteus's remaining body parts and was what he used to help Feng in times of need.
Proteus felt powered up and sent his soul away from the remnant body parts and merged it with the ones he had switched with Feng's own.
This wasn't the end yet, Feng split the demon mark so it could upgrade these new limbs for him. His mechanical arms blue lines became red, which gave it an extremely demonic exterior, and the legs gained black continuous lines running through it. Feng now looked like an all-conquering Demonic Aether Mech.
Feng had unlocked another transformation! The Demon God half-mech transformation.
"You think your puny scrap metal transformation can hurt me, well then think again."
Feng didn't talk but merely pointed his right arm towards the fellow. A small hole was located at the center of the palm, and only Feng and proteus knew what they were for.
A large concentration of a midnight coloured spiritual energy appeared from within the small hole; this midnight colored spiritual energy was a mixture of Feng and Proteus's spiritual energy, at this moment to the others, Feng's face was covered in a shroud of black and only a glint of red appeared where his eyes were located.
The speed general knew this would cause huge damage to his soul and tried to move out of the range of this blast. But unfortunately, he couldn't, the soul which he was worried about was being controlled by the blood queen. He could only laugh bitterly at his fate, if only he was smarter he wouldn't have chosen to come to this place when he was a mercenary as a human, but now it was too late for regrets. He might as well take the blow and finally die.
The moment it hit him, a flash of white light passed through his head, and soon there was nothing left of his soul, all that was left was an intact body with dimming red runes.
Feng walked over to the puppet's human body which was coalesced in metal and observed the runes. His photographic memory caught every detail on the rune. Prior to leaving, Proteus scanned the puppet's body and alerted Feng, at first he was startled and thought the puppet hadn't died but was relieved to find that that wasn't the case.
He was only alerting Feng to something withing the puppet's body. Feng retracted his blades and summoned his dagger, which he used to forcibly pry open the flesh of the puppet.
In the area located in the corpse's navel, a blood pearl lay, and although he couldn't recognize it, he still felt an incredible life force being emitted from it. Damon who was within the demon mark spoke out within Feng's mind.
[It's a blood pearl. If you find more of it, it should be suitable to build a vessel for Proteus]
At this moment Damon was the divine messenger angel of God to Proteus, after a little while he would not be constricted to Feng's body.
Feng wordlessly got up and walked deeper into the forest, not even sparing a glance to Long Hu who just a moment ago had tears on his face, or Eshu who was filled with constant admiration, not to mention the mercenaries who were unfamiliar with Feng, not even his friend or student could tell his thoughts.
