Chereads / Modern Day Asura (DROPPED) / Chapter 29 - The Journey (2)

Chapter 29 - The Journey (2)

Feng walked towards the entrance and saw two poorly equipped African guards standing at each side of the gate. According to his senses, they were both at the bronze rank, but they both looked tired and hungry, and to put themselves in the illusion they weren't; they had started to doze. These two African-looking males were taller than Feng, so the moment they saw this smaller human coming, they shouted with majesty.

"HALT! STATE YOUR BUSINESS!"

Their spears crossed across each other, forming what seemed to be a barrier.

The reason they were acting erratically was that some outsiders had already arrived in their mountain village for no reason, these outsiders even bribed and threatened them, so they had to be on guard for people that came from the outside.

"I am just passing by,"

Feng replies calmly, without putting up much of a fuss over these, bronze rank guards, heck even that little boy, Zeke could beat them in their current state, at first they looked warily at each other, then they moved their spears and let him pass. However, just as Feng was about to pass through, he reached into a pack strapped to his legs and brought out two strips of Dragon Cow meat from earth, the both who were at the gate, with their senses could pick up this tantalizing scent, and looked towards the source. They saw the same little man from earlier holding the meat; he turned to them and with neck-breaking speed; they swivelled back to their original positions, acting as though they didn't notice a thing. With Feng's senses, he could tell what they did with the corner of his eye.

He smiled at the antics and handed two strips to the guards who stood at the gate. They accepted it with trembling hands and fell to the floor, thanking Feng, who smiled and moved into the village. His philosophy was to be ruthless to enemies and kind to friends and whoever helped him.

...

The village gave off an ancient feeling, and words couldn't describe the design, some things, and designs he had never even seen or heard of. He walked forward, looking for an inn or a tavern.

While he looked a frown suddenly fell onto his face. Every corner he saw many African looking people starving and lying on the ground on the brink of death. No matter what he did, he could not save this number of people with the regular food he had if they ate the star energy foods they would explode and die either way.

He reached into all the pouches he had and found that he could serve everyone, but it would only sustain them for a few minutes.

'That's all I need, just a few minutes, and I can make a few normal dishes for these poor souls.'

Feng immediately pulled out a table and set it in a place where all the starving people of the village could reach without dying of exhaustion.

After he set the table, he reached into all the bags and pouches he carried; spatial equipment, and pulled out all sorts of food, Dragon cow Steak, Magic Corn, Fried rice with eggs, etc. In less than two minutes, the starved citizens had already reached the table and helped themselves, but as he calculated, the food wasn't enough, and they looked at the figure who gave them the food, all of them; Soldiers, Elderly, mana Cultivators, Children, nursing mothers, working fathers, adolescents, they all looked at Feng who had his back to them, they all moved forward to check what he was doing. Feng now had an audience, watching him make his specialities. The smell of meat and sauces spread through to air and wafted into the noses of the audience, these people had already forgotten their dignity, and started drooling, in their minds, the same thoughts lay.

'This man is a prophet. He has come to help us get rid of the evil that plagues the village. The ancestors have listened to our prayers!'

They were all snapped out of their thoughts when a voice was heard.

"I am finished, now go eat."

This was Feng speaking the universal language of the dimension. He had indeed done a very good deed, his karmic merits increased, and now, he gave off a purer aura, an aura that he would make people feel comfortable around him. They finished the food in a flash, and now the citizens were even licking the plates he served them on.

BANG! CRASH!

Loud sounds came from someone slamming a door open. Feng, who was chatting with the people he just served, looked towards the source and saw a building that looked like a tavern. Two drunk fellows came out, stumbling towards the Feng's table with bottles of Spirit beer in- hand. They both were dressed like mercenaries. One of them had blonde hair and held a hammer by his side, the other was dark-haired and had twin daggers in two sheaths by his side, His senses told him they were both at the silver rank. Feng looked at their uniforms and saw the symbol of a Tiger with wings. It stunned him.

'Ah, I remember now! They were part of the mercenary guild that came to earth in the Star Desert, and I prolly killed their friends when they tried to loot nebeus's place.'

Feng laughed out and spoke to the drunk fellows.

"It looks like we are tied to each other by threads of fate,"

They both looked at who spoke and said simultaneously,

"Huh, do we know you?"

"Ignore him, let's go meet those pretty chicks."

The black-haired one still had some senses and said to his friend. As he said this, both of them stumbled towards the teenage girls that sat on the floor near Feng's table. The two outstretched their booze-covered hands and attempted to pull the girls towards him.

Just as the hands reached the girls, a wind flew by, and then disappeared, dust was everywhere, and when it finally cleared out, the girls they were about to molest were no longer there. Instead, they appeared in Feng's arms about ten meters away.

He looked at them with a deep light in his eyes and placed the girls on the floor carefully. Standing back up again, he looked at the drunk mercenaries with the light still in his eyes.

The mercenaries were so scared; it was at the moment everyone there noticed the six blood-red eyes on his mask. Feng no longer seemed human. He now emitted the energy of an ancient fiend. The mercenaries kept trying to keep up the facade that they weren't scared.

The blonde-haired one with the hammer removed it from its binding and held it up into the air.

"To hell with it! I Owen will not give up so easily!"

These were his last words; A pair of white gloves appeared behind him, and the sound of decapitating was heard, Feng had already slain him.

His friend was someone. From his weapons, you would know he was inclined to speed. He had already retreated, his hand sneakily moved into his clothes and pulled out a talisman, he crushed it, and with relief, he turned to the person who was chasing after him.

In the base of the Flying Tiger mercenary guild, a little servant was rushing towards the main building with fear in his eyes. He reached the door of the building and barged in.

"Master Death's Hand crushed the emergency talisman!"

"What! Tell me his location,"

"Yes, he is in the Orisha mountain range, specifically Orisha Mountain Village."

"Hmm, send a team of ten Gold realm experts and a jade realm expert to avenge him. If the person can wipe them out, then we will let the matter rest for now."

"Yes, I will send out the order."

The servant says, bowing, and walking out.

While this was happening, Feng and the one known as Death's Hand were currently battling. Battle was the wrong word to use. It was actually more of a cat playing with a mouse before devouring it.

The death's hand person kept on using the shadows to escape Feng and his hands, Feng was enjoying this cat-and-mouse game for a while and decided not to waste more time further, he pulled out the broken sword from the sheath on his back, and sent a half-assed slash towards the place where his opponent was to be.

A spurt of blood was seen from the corner of an abandoned building; a blood mist emerged from the body of the two dead mercenaries and entered his body. Unbeknownst to him, the technique the old man on earth gave to him had strengthened.

He put the broken sword back into the sheath and looked at the stunned citizens of this village. One by one, they all rushed to him, saying different things.

"Wow, thank you for saving us."

"Can you teach me the first move?"

"Yea, I want to learn too."

He laughed and scratched the back of his head, nervously. There were even some girls coming over to meet him. He had more than enough reasons to be nervous.

After a while of responding, he heard a timid voice.

"Can you teach me your martial arts, mister?"

He looked and saw a shota. He looked like a beggar, though.

"What the hell are you doing here!"

"Go away, demon spawn!"

"Mister saint, don't fall for his cute face."

Feng hearing them throw such statements at a cute little boy, suddenly frowned and turned to those who spoke.

"Don't let me hear of this again. I don't want to have to kill some little kids because they bullied someone."

The children who spoke instantly shrunk back in fear.

Feng had hated bullying for a long time, especially after he got power, he didn't find it right to bully, and he knew from experience, his brother had always bullied him… for many years. He cleared his head of the old memories and inspected the shota.

He was a brown-skinned youth, with chestnut-coloured hair and Hazel eyes, he seemed to radiate a glow of health despite the village being starved.

Damon, who had been crazily typing, suddenly exclaimed.

[Eshu! Eshu!]

Feng was startled and asked what was wrong.

[That little boy, he is the reincarnation of Eshu; he is one of the Orishas, and he also belongs to the supreme council of our Celestial Demon Clan. Feng, it looks like you have found the second of our brethren.]

'Ah, I see.'

Feng looked towards the little boy and pulled him towards him a little.

"Little boy, what is your name?"

"Eh, Eshu is Eshu."

Feng almost burst into laughter, but then he kept it subdued.

"How would you like to become my disciple?"

"Eshu wants, Eshu greets master."

This little boy was truly amusing to listen to.

He then decided to stay in the village for another day, and then he would set out with eshu.

The members of the Flying tiger guild reached the village and looked at it with disgust in their eyes. They had already begun to search for the person who killed their comrade when they eventually found the person; they perished before they even realized.

Months had passed, and Feng and Eshu were in a caravan with a few other people, by the names of Alicia, Qiao Qingchen, Ross and Sterling, sterling and Ross were the only other males in the caravan, the others two were female.

Feng knew the other's might try to rob him and Eshu, but he did not care. Over the entire year, he had tempered himself and Eshu through life or death battles, which included assassinations so this was nothing.

The next day, after they finally made their move, Feng sat near Alicia. In contrast, Eshu sat near Qiao Qingchen. Just as he expected, a dagger zoomed through the air and rushed towards Feng's body. To he who trained his body using real lightning over the last year, this was nothing. He didn't even need his tempered body in this fight, the Midnight Shroud of Nature blocked it for him, Damon said this cloak and its other items were part of a mind-blowing set, they were equipment which evolved based on the user's capabilities.

He looked at the point where the dagger came from; he saw sterling holding a lot of flying daggers in the air, seeing no harm come to Feng, and Feng looking at him. He was so scared he pissed his pants.

They could now see a damp spot on his trousers, and the pungent odour of urine spread through the caravan.

Qingcheng, who was 'holding Eshu down,' shouted at him.

"Damn, Coward! So what if he blocked one? It only means that he has many treasures on him. Once we kill him, we can sell the Shota to an old woman to torture!"

It seemed she was angry at sterling, but she wasn't the only one that was angry. The eyes of Eshu flickered with a bright yellow light. His clothes started flapping even though there was no wind at that present moment. The friction between the special equipment Feng gave him and his skin, the friction turns into yellow static lightning that runs around him, his hair flew up, and Feng who was watching suddenly yelled out.

"Wow! Eshu you didn't tell me you could go Super Saiyan, I will need to take you to WI later, he is gonna want to meet you."

Little Eshu didn't hear him and held a hand forwards at Qiao Qingchen, green mana erupted from his palm and rushed towards her. It flew in un-predictable ways till it hit her body, at first it seemed there was no effect, then suddenly she dried up like a prune, her body turned to dust in the end.

Feng was dazed.

"The mana of his death magic is green. Wait, I didn't teach him magic yet."

Damon, in his mind, casually spoke to him.

[of course, he is reincarnated, so he still has his memories, Eshu specialized in death magic and some other types, his death magic is unique. He merged with the Laws of Life.]

'Laws?'

[You are not qualified to know it yet.]

'Whatever you say,'

He then focused on the fight again. And the sight was wonderful to see. There was no trace of the other three people in the caravan. It was as though they turned to dust.

Feng took a few steps to Eshu and patted him on the head.

"You are a good boy,"

"Eshu is a good boy."

Half a month later, both of them looted the caravan and walked to their destination.

Mercenary Valley.
