Lizzy approached Mugen, lowering herself down to his level. Her eyes were pinned on his, a contrast between life and death showing itself. She had a frown, the exact same showing itself atop Mugen's face. "Sora... Mugen, that's your name right? Am I butchering it? At all?" The female asked, resting both hands atop her knees.
Mugen hadn't answered, he had simply stared back at her, his wounds blossoming red. She knew that she had to do something about this. She couldn't just help him. She needed evidence. Proof if you will, something that proves that he's willing to save and free. "What is your goal? Why do you fight and take up the sword?" She asked, frowning at him. Lizzy was awfully serious. Judging by his answer, she'd either free him and work by Yuki's side or mercy kill him, dealing with Yuki as an enemy.
"No answer again?" Lizzy asked, taking to her feet. She wasn't intending to ask once more. Although regrettable, if Mugen chose not to speak, who was she to press forwards? Yet, before she could turn away, "It's to free Japan. My father died. I barely knew him... I don't care for this country but he did. So I'm willing to fulfill his wishes." Mugen's tone was just barely more audible than a whisper. It was surprising to even see him talking. He lacked many muscles at this point. His chest, nothing but bones with no flesh present. It was hard to believe he'd ever make even half the recovery. "Your... Doing this for revenge? You really think your gonna win?" She turned her head.
"Call it what you want... But people will pay. They'll pay for what they did to my country. Just like you people, I too will be the judge, jury and executioner." Mugen responded. Lizzy felt a chill race down her spine. She raised an arm but swiftly dropped it, shutting both eyes to call her thoughts to one. 'He wants to be free... He wants everyone to be free... But Tallory... If I...' She thought to herself, biting her bottom lip. Pulling her face up, she released a breath of air. Exchanging glances, she felt stiff. Did she have a choice at the end of the day? Could she go against Tallory? "Fuck!" She slammed her forehead into the wall, blood splashing into the concrete as a trail trickled down her face.
The young vice warden couldn't hold it anymore. Swiftly, she approached Mugen and turned around. "Grab on!" She exclaimed. 'Just don't think! Just get him out! We'll fix it later.' Mugen, showing a pale face of confusion had been sorted with a series of silence. "What are you waiting for, idiot?! Do it!" Mugen hadn't questioned a thing and simply did as he was told. Wrapping his arms around her neck, she jumped to her feet, holding his legs by her side. "What are you doing?" He said weakly, but she didn't answer. She had swiftly left the cell, racing through the hall of dim lights. "Vice Warden?" Some guards had taken sight of her, yet she didn't pay much mind. She continued running, causing their inevitable pursuit.
She took a frantic stop at an awfully familiar cell. Then without a moment of thought, she freed the demon that lurked within. "There! Protect me!" Two guards had approached Lizzy, but in an instant, the demon lying within the cell had offed their heads. "What are you waiting on, keep moving!" Yuki replied, her nails retracting swiftly. Lizzy took off once more, continuing her journey forwards. "Wait..." She peeked behind her, "Give me your keys." Yuki stopped her. "Wha-" Before she could answer, Yuki grabbed them off of her waist then in an instant, she proceeded to free the tortured samurai. "Miss Ha!" Yuki turned to the sight of the freed samurai and simply smiled.
"On our way! Let's get moving all! For Japan! We'll take it back, so don't die here!" Yuki pointed forwards, "Protect the boy, young Sora!"
"Right!"
Lizzy was amazed by the amount of energy they had. The mob of prisoners charged forwards, leaving Lizzy and Mugen in the dust. "Keep behind us! We'll take care of the combat!" The samurai stated as Lizzy followed. She simply nodded, realizing that despite the noise, Mugen had gone unconscious. Tightening her grip, she hunched her back, propping him further atop her. "Up the stairs!" She commanded, the mob of samurai overcoming the very few guards standing guard. "Is he still breathing?!" Yuki asked from the ceiling, running at the same pace as Lizzy. "Yeah! He's still here, just not conscious." Yuki was displeased, but chose not to address the matter.
"Charge!" The samurai howled while ascending the stairs to reach the main floor. Busting through the door and into a narrow hallway, they were met with quite the unfortunate surprise. "Everyone! Down!" In a matter of seconds, the hallway had been lit up with unnatural lights, followed with deafening bangs. Samurai had fallen one after another, blood splattering against the walls and heads rolling in unison. Lizzy had fallen, taking cover from the mayhem that occured. "Shit... No!" Suffering a bullet to her side, she rolled to the floor in an attempt to not only play dead but soothe the wound. Mugen's body had fallen, lying lifeless atop the mountain of dead prisoners.
"Alright, that's about it." Rox took a puff out of his cigarette, blowing a draft of smoke. His red eyes had peered through the grey particles as he emerged from the firing squad. "Keep your aim high, Some may be hidi-"
"Gwah!" Rox turned swiftly, seeing the heads of his squad members flying to the air. Yuki had leaped back to the ceiling, murdering every man and woman standing before her. Standing up straight, she peered down at the young man, now blinded by irritation. The whole firing squad of five members were killed in an instant. Rox narrowed his eyes and flicked his cigarette to the floor. He reached for his weapon, and so did Yuki. Yuki brought her hand to her face, adjusting her wrist to cause her blade-like claws to emerge. Rox on the other hand, had successfully loaded his shotgun, pointing the weapon directly at the female. "Prisoner Fifty Eight? Should've known you'd be a problem. Just give up!" The man stated, narrowing his eyes.
Yuki, for a split second, glanced behind him. She saw the pile of bodies, narrowing the sight at Mugen. She prayed that Lizzy nor Mugen had suffered the shots. She herself, didn't see the bullets coming. If she hadn't been traversing from the ceiling, she too would've been gunned down. No doubt about it. "Your weaponry's gotten better." Yuki freely states, loosening her shoulder before falling to the floor, landing gloriously atop her feet. Rox still had his gun at her, but now the tension was even greater. "Let's see if you can catch me."
