I looked at the short Dryad as he imposingly stood over me, fury evident in his eyes. Mr.S had assured me that as long as I didn't wish for him to harm me, he wouldn't; I had banked almost everything on that assumption.
*SHWOOM*
*THUNK*
A flash of white came from the Dryad, the air seemed to coil around it; pushing it forwards. The flash grazed the feathers on my neck, shaving the tops of some off before implanting itself in a tree behind me. I quickly looked towards it and realised that it was extremely similar to the knife the guy had thrown at me during our first encounter...
This son of a gun just tried to kill me again.
'You... stop! No more knives! Throw all your knives away right now! At any direction I am not in!'
The man's emerald green eyes turned dull and glassy, he shook his arms, causing half a dozen or so knives fall to the ground. The Dryad bent down and unstrapped knives which were attached to his boots, throwing them onto the ever growing pile of small blades that had made itself onto the dead grass, I get that knives are useful and all, but this is ridiculous! Did this guy have some sort of obsession?
Finally, the man stood back up and his eyes regained their brightness, however the expression displayed on his face had changed from one of fury to one of confusion and fear; The Dryad seemed to have been fully conscious whenI gave my "orders".
'Alright! You just stand here and wait for a while ok? I'll come back in a bit, don't move a muscle!'
I gave some orders to the Dryad and waddled back to the cave crevice, I looked over my shoulder and saw his face growing increasingly purple.
'You can breathe! Just... don't walk away!'
The Dryad audibly exhaled and his face flushed red, his legs remained rooted to the ground.
Scary.
This 'ability' of mine could be dangerous if improperly used, even wording matters! Having complete control of someones actions feels dirty, but the guy did try to kill me... twice! I can wash away my guilt by calling this his atonement for wanting to kill a perfectly nice chick.
I gracefully jumped, hopped and skipped towards the cave crevice, getting inside was a tad tougher due to me increased size but with some grit, I managed to get myself in. The main cave body was much larger and more comfortable due to the hen reaching in and grabbing me, I was hopping up and down in my excitement.
'Mr.S... Use Transform!'
[ Transformations Available ]
• Human ? (LOCKED)
• Dryad S
• Elf ? (LOCKED)
• Dwarf ? (LOCKED)
• Fairy ? (LOCKED)
• Demon ? (EXTINCT)
Well crap.
'Mr.S... why can't I choose human?'
[ Condition for Human Transformation not met ]
'Ah I see, so the condition is to use Patented Resurrection on them?'
[ Unable to answer, Frankenstein must find out himself ]
I-
I'll address the name situation a bit later, I'll just assume that's the reason and move one, there are more pressing matters at wing.
'What do the letters next to "Dryad" and question marks beside the rest mean?'
[ Unable to answer, Frankenstein must find out himself ]
You're starting to annoy me again Mr.S.
'If I choose Dryad, I can go back to being a chick whenever I wish right?'
[ Yes, Transformation also has a time limit at this stage; after it is completed, you will be forcibly reverted to your previous form ]
'Ok...I see.'
'If I want to re-integrate myself into human society... I just need to find a human, kill them, commence resurrection and make them into an undead being who I can command!'
Easy! Hahahahahahahahaha!
Hahahahahahahahahheehhehehe... hehehe... heh.
I was only joking of course.
Right?
I tried to convince myself that the morbid thought was just my mind poking fun at me for the ridiculous situation I had found myself in. Maybe the Pallidi Chick hybrid evolution is hampering my ability to be fully moral, was that possible?
I turned my attention back to the options in front of me, I wanted to figure this out before anything else.
Alright.
Dryad isn't ideal, but the man seemed humanoid enough... The green skin was a dead giveaway though, maybe I could just say I had a bad burrito last night or something? My ear's pointing out might also be troubling, but that's an issue I can worry about in the future.
'Mr.S... let's do it!'

*Munch munch munch*
The pale boy in pyjamas shovelled chips into his mouth, crumbs of fried potato getting caught in his pyjamas before falling off.
He intently looked at the screen in front of him, it showed a small creature stumbling it's way up into a crevice that lay a few inches beyond his reach, after a few minutes of pointless hopping and some annoyed kicks, the chick reached the crevice and pushed itself inside. The boy's screen followed the chick into the dark cave, showing him the odd expressions the creature made as it stared into thin air; even with the seemingly boring view, the boy was grinning ear to ear.
"Cmon... don't make me wait any longer..."
Suddenly, the creatures body began to glow with a radiant green hue, it's entire being was enveloped in an egg-like shape, pulsating and humming as it grew in size.
"Green... he chose Dryad..."
The boy clenched his fist and smashed the chips he was about to throw into his maw, a rain of crumbs fell onto his lap.
"WHY THE HELL DID HE CHOOSE DRYAD?!!?!"
"SYSTEM! DISPLAY ALL POSSIBLE REASONS WHY HE WOULDN'T HAVE GONE WITH HUMAN!"
[ Possible Reasons based on target's personality ]
• He misspoke
• Said "Dryad" as a joke which the system took literally
• Thought Dryad's were cooler looking and wanted to try being one
• Wanted to bond with captured Dryad
• Other evolutions unavailable
• Other nonsensical reason
"Grah... the first 4 are likely I guess..."
The boy's eyebrows furrowed as he thought of the implications the chick's choice would have on him, he unconsciously reached into his bag of chips, clawing at some small bits that had gotten stuck in the corners of the packet.
"The last option makes less sense however... the normal requirement for human transformation is simply seeing one and he's seen that crazed chef many, many times..."
His eyebrows ceased being knitted to one another and flew up in shock.
"Maybe he received a high ranking Human state to evolve into, thus making his transformation requirement more troublesome? Or on the other hand, his transformation requirement by becoming a hybrid might've been more difficult, which consequently enhanced his rank..."
The boy stroked his chin while staring off into the distance, he sighed and disdainfully looked at the green egg.
"Ugh whatever... This creature's gonna find a way to give me an aneurysm, I'll just forget he ever existed and relax for a while. Show me the others system, hopefully their progress can set me at ease."
The orange interface split into hundreds of smaller ones, each showing a video of different magical beasts or humanoid being going about their day. The boy scrunched up the plastic wrapping that belonged to his chips and threw it into the air, the trash disintegrating as it hit the floor.
He leaned back further into his couch, another smile creeping into his face.
"Shouldn't be too long now..."
