Fan Huan sat down on the floor of his small house, trying to search his memories for the events that happened to his life.
"I don't know what date it is right now, but I know I haven't found that cultivation method yet, " Fan Huan muttered.
The cultivation method he is talking about is a cultivation method he found while he was scavenging food on the forest and he fell down on an ancient devil cultivator's tomb.

Fan Huan is the son of the Patriarch of this clan, Fan Shi. He ran away from home because of the extreme neglect he experienced there in that house.
Every 4 years, a talent ceremony would occur in the village. In this event, youngsters from the age of 10 to 16 would take a test to see if they have enough talent to be a good cultivator. They used an artifact called the Orb Of Seeing. With that artifact, they can see through that orb what the talent of someone is. Though, it is extremely expensive.
The talents are ranked by numbers, the higher the number, the greater your talent is. They are also called Talent Points. The highest talent points recorded in history were 20 and that was the progenitor of cultivators.
Everybody would get an average of 2 to 3 talent points but Fan Huan only got 1 talent point. Making him the greatest laughing stock in the clan. The first one to get 1 talent point in the entire clan.
When his family learned what his talent point was, they were shocked. Their son was only a trash. That was when they started ignoring him. First, it was undetectable but the longer it got, the more he knew what is happening. His siblings were incredibly cold to him, telling him he was a trash or a worthless bag of meat. Having have enough about his family, he left. If they would just ignore him, then so be it. I have nothing to lose.
Fan Huan frowned as he thought about his family. But he just shook it off and said, "Tomorrow I'll look to the nearest calendar I can see and find out what date it is so that I can plan ahead on what to do."
He doesn't have any calendar in his house, his previous self did not have that much money to buy just a calendar. He could only save his money for food... and the rent of this small house.
He checked his tael pouch if he has any money and he saw there were only three copper taels in it.
Fan Huan frowned and said, "This isn't enough to cover this month's rent. I need 10 coper taels to cover this month's rent and my previous self's job wasn't so good at paying its employees."
He then decided, "Alright, I need to reach Qi Gathering 1 by morning, so that I can hunt at least small beasts tomorrow and sell it to the merchant in the marketplace."
There are 8 Major Cultivation Realms, Qi Gathering, Foundation Establishment, Gold Core, Soul Wondering, Nascent Soul, Ensoulment, Nihility, and Ascension, his previous cultivation realm. They are also separated by 10 small realms each.
Fan Huan sat in a lotus position before he started trying to sense the Qi in the surroundings. Because of his previous experience with Qi, he was able to sense it in just a second. If anyone saw this kind of feat, their jaws would drop so low it would touch tr ground because sensing Qi could go on to weeks onto months but Fan Huan just did it in just a second.
After sensing the Qi, he then started cultivating using his previous cultivation method, the devil cultivation. He gathered the Qi in his surroundings onto his dantian before doing It again repeatedly.
In just a minute, he broke through the Qi Gathering 1 without breaking a sweat. (I have nothing to say).
Fan Huan opened his eyes and he pondered, "That was weird, wasn't my talent just 1? Is it because of this cultivation method? No, it's because of my experience with cultivation in my past life."
With that said, he closed his eyes again and he repeated every step he took minus the Qi sensing.

In just one night, he was able to breakthrough 4 small realms of the Qi Gathering Realm. He is now in the Qi Gathering Level 4. He can now hunt a level 1 magical beast with his current cultivation. If he were to sell all of its body parts, he would be able to earn 10 silver taels or 1000 copper taels.
That money is enough to feed an entire average family for years while putting a roof over their heads. But to cultivators, it's only a small amount of money.
Fan Huan woke from his cultivation and just after he opened his eyes, huge sounds of knocks came to his door.
"Fan Huan! Pay the rent, now!!" An extremely angry voice said behind his door.
