*Chapter Fourteen*
Third person's POV
Martins watched as Dave paced restlessly in his office. He didn't need any seer to tell him he was in serious trouble.
"Today is the contract bid to the Chinese investors. And you are just telling me of this." Dave was pissed, glaring at the four eyed Martin. He was short of words,he could do nothing than just stand like a wet puppy.
"Sir...I'm really sorry-" Martin attempted to plea his case but obviously there was no hearing of it.
"Keep that mouth of yours shut" Demanded Dave glaring through the glasses poor Martin's had glued to his eyes. "Do you think this is all a joke?" Dave screamed, returning to his pacing. "If we loose that deal with the Chinese investors, prepare yourself... you also a goner." Dave threatened, transferring his rage and aggression that stuffed him from a certain person called Brooke. It wasn't the first time getting worked up by Martin, if it were probably any of the useless employees,he wouldn't have wasted his time straining his voice. They knew the drill. 'Fired'
But Martin was different, he had countless bad times at his job but was reliable and pretty good when needed. That was evidently his saving grace.
Dave shrugged, going a little dizzy from his pace. He gave another fierce stare at Martin. Wondering just what to do to this good for nothing. This time Dave seemed to have meant it,if Krystal Group loses this Contract,it was the end of Martin.
"What should we do" Dave questioned dubiously. Martin was apparently frightened, for a young man of his age.
Dave always considered him to be a weakly coward and his nerdy appearance didn't quite much help in this case. It was frustrating, he had to do most of the thinking here.
After getting full reigns on Krystal Group, Dave couldn't have the Company surrounded by oddly old employees sending him disapproving looks. So he had to do what he had to do and got rid of those he could.
Most of the stakeholders didn't quite approve of his methods of running the Company but what could they do. Alas he owned more than half the shares. And that lead him with dumb heads like Martin.
It was almost time for conference meeting, every prestigious Company will be there and he was not missing out on this one. Never.
He wouldn't be Dave Anderson if he didn't find a way passed this. His thinking cap was on...Emma...He needed Emma for this.
That little Missy skeptical wouldn't be present when needed but would be the first meddling in where not needed.
He was angry and maybe Martin was just a scapegoat to vent out on. Emma had the nerves to tell him of what her nosy self thought of Natalie.
'Dave trust me something is off about her'
'I feel as though she's danger...we must be careful.'
'My instinct's never wrong.'
All those jargons to Dave sounded nothing more like a jealous little bitch.
He was getting fed up. No. As a matter of certainty, he already was. Emma was beginning to act all possessive and jealous.
He was no woman's man. Nonetheless could he be tied to one. Emma was now crossing her limit and he sure wouldn't stand for it.
Not that he could say that to her face. They both had come a long way and he couldn't hurt her like this. Still he wouldn't let her meddle in the wonderful plans he has for his stainless beauty.
He glanced at the time, all this had given him an idea. One that solved his headaches. He decided to give his lover a call. She'll know exactly how to make this work. "You may go now Martin, we leave for the meeting in few minutes"
****
It was already rowdy at the multinational conference room. The ever proficient and capable Emma was exactly where she should be,beside her lover. She was in oblivion, as Dave scanned around but no sight of his stainless beauty nor Asher Reed, but RECO representatives were here. Dave gave Emma a look that conveyed the uneasiness spiralling through this mind. She returned the look, with a more easy gaze. Saying 'I took care of everything'
A smile ran through his lips, whatever Emma said was no doubt the truth. 'This was a don't ask don't tell scenario.:
After all a magician never reveals his secrets. Either ways Emma had managed to get hold of Sunshine's proposal bid. And Dave was positive in some few minutes he would be walking out of here with the deal in Krystal's Group grasp.
Soon enough a middle aged man walked out to the podium, he had a calm demeanor which seemed to brighten his grey hairs. Chairman Yun.
The meeting begun, just as predicted Krystal Group won.
Krystal Group won the contract.
Dave couldn't agree less, this past months were definitely a success.
With his usual egoistic nature, he stood up giving everyone a glimpse of his superiority.
Then a loud commotion burst through the doors, flashing camera's around. Emma threw me a condescending look .Martin was quickly up on his feet, clutching his phone tightly as he scurried to Dave's side.
It was horrible.
Dave read the headlines with an unbelievable shock.
'Krystal Group under scrutinized investigation for illegal activities'
It had indubitably gone viral.
Dave couldn't even prod further. He heard the vibrating buzzes of various phone and soon he was the center of the whole fiasco. The press not sparing him, shooting numerous questions at him.
He felt humiliated. A person of ridicule. He gave permission to the ground beneath swallow him up.
But to no avail.
He stood like an animal glued to his feet but in this case in shame.
The vibrant voice of chairman Yun filtered through everyone's ears. "Sorry... We can no longer engage in this business with you"
Neither Dave nor Emma, even incompetent Martin dare speak up. Abashment in the face of the world, something that he would rather die than to witness.
Dave tumbled, dashing out of the room, clasping his hands across my face with Martin's assistance.
This was bad,Dave's image and company were at stake.
He feared for the worse that could happen.
It was a scandal,a dirty and damaging one. The buzzing calls indicated it all... Krystal Group was doomed.
