"Ugh no, that sounds stupid. The clock hits 12, not noon. And who says deep in the blue, as the ocean? Nothing rhymes with lurk, anyway. I was never good at poetry. Well, whatever. I don't care what my friends- oh right, I don't have any.", Samara thought to herself frustrated. Her mother made her take poetry class, and she'd rather be taking art class. Art relieves stress. Poetry causes stress.
"Samara? Care to share out?", Mrs. Brooks asked her, hearing her talking to herself.
"Uh no, I was just talking about- poetry...", Samara lied. Poetry. How dumb.
"Well I'd love to hear what you wrote-", Mrs. Brooks made her evil smile. People around the class were giggling at Samara.
"No thanks, I think I want to keep it private. Hidden.", Samara saved herself.
"Ooh, looks like someone can't write a poem. Do you even know how to write?", everyone was laughing. So she did what she always does. She ran out.
Her face was pressed against her locker, waiting for the end of poetry to come. Samara watched a lot of movies, so she kicked her locker like people do a lot.
"Hey, what are you doing out here?", it was a girl who looked way like a bad girl. Her long hair was in a high ponytail, her nails were painted black, and her outfit was 100% leather.
"I could ask the same about you.", Samara said coldly. But this wasn't the person she wanted to pick fights with, so she let it be.
"Great. Did you run out?", she asked. She was now twirling her many bracelets.
"Take a wild guess.", Samara sighed with sarcasm.
"I just don't like school! Which classroom?", asked the girl bluntly.
"Uh- that one over there...", pointed Samara with an awkward expression on her face. The new girl marched into that classroom and yelled,
"You all are crazy to be mean to that girl! I swear, if you do it again!!!", and then she ran out.
"Holy crap that was awesome!!!", Samara gasped with pleasure.
"Mhm. No big deal.", the girls face turned a bit pink.
"What's your name?", Samara asked. Probably like Raven, or something gang-
"Akira.", she said, "And why did you run out of the class?". She laughed, knowing that wasn't what I was expecting.
"Uhm sometimes I just prefer to stay hidden.", Samara shrugged.
"Ah, well that's the bell for end of school. I gotta go.", Akira made a fun for it. "BYE!!!"
"I wonder what extracurricular activities she could've been doing...", wondered Samara. She ran home, surprised that she may have actually made a new friend. Maybe staying hidden wasn't the way to go.
"Samara!!! How was school?", Her mom opened the door.
"Pretty good actually. I made a new friend.", she smiled. Her moms face turned white.
"Your joking, right??? Wow!!!", she looked so surprised it hurt.
"Ouch. Yes, I did. Gotta go to my room, ok?", Samara was sort of upset that her mom was so shocked at her making a friend.
"Oh and by the way, we have new neighbors.", yelled the mom.
"Who?", Samara yelled from upstairs.
"Uhh... someone by the name of Akira Yung?"
