There was once a boy, he was basic in every way. His life was simple, the only snippets of strife came from his unrequited love and Monotonous farm life.
That is until two nations had a war. His village, Alverton, was caught amid the crossfire. They had two options: be conscripted into the war or die. Without any ability to abscond or rebuttal the old village chief accepted.
The boy was separated from his family, hastily taught how to use more than a plow, then thrown into the war-ridden no man's land. He had never picked up a sword in his life, even with the week of training it showed in the single fight he aggrieved. perishing the second he went into battle. Sand and dust blew through the wind as magic fired off in the distance, the screams and cries of his comrades echoed throughout the barren field and for a moment he felt warm before realizing what happened. His stomach was cleanly stabbed through. He holds his wound close the best he can, As he loses his vision and blood the boy cries out to the world and the void.
"Please---Someone---anyone---I don't wanna die yet. I haven't lived long enough! I never told him how I felt! Please, anyone, I want a second chance! Please!"
The boy floated in the darkness for what seemed to be an eternity, But moments later did he finally open his eyes. He looks around getting used to his surroundings, almost immediately he realizes that this isn't [His] body, all physical components and basic composition don't match up with his previous body...that's new. He...is [He] even a he? Was he ever a [He]...who or what even is [He]??? They take a better look around seeing the many cabinets filled with vials of light blue or indigo liquids, two tables adjacent to the one he was currently atop with scalpels, hammers, and an assortment of other instruments that they couldn't recognize. They attempt to sit up and then look down, Yup they're a boy alright...Kinda disappointing…he looks his body up and analyzes his abilities, despite that lack of an ability to move his body was decently fit and slender, however, he noticed that he was quite small.
"Oh, you're awake...WAIT YOU'RE AWAKE!"
A person in a lab coat walks in, they have a glass monocle, along with a branch-like stave and a crystal-looking orb at the end of it. Their hair is a dirty golden blonde, and their skin is an off-white beige. They walk over to me. Even as close as they are my eyes aren't well, I can't recognize their gender just yet...what's gender?
"Oh, so you're awake? Can you hear me? Can you even see?"
The noises and sounds are recorded in my head and I replicate them perfectly.
"Who...am I?"
"Oh hell! Shit, you can speak pretty well for a person just waking up for the first time! I'll note that down. But for now, can you move?"
I attempt to get off the table but I immediately fall over.
"Oh hell! You ok uh..kid?"
After a few moments of watching them move, I'm able to walk perfectly fine...my legs are awfully small though…
"amazing...Already above average when it comes to anatomical and neurological movement and understanding along with speech!"
The person writes vigorously, I watch them from start to finish before dipping my finger into one of the viles out of curiosity and writing on the top of the counter the exact words, my penmanship isn't terrible at least...though I can't read this.
"Holy shit! How the hell did you even know...can you read that?"
I shake my head, completely unaware of the words that I've written out clear as day. The person kept making notes, their white smooth coat swaying, I absentmindedly grabbed at it, my curiosity peaking a bit too much even for my own liking, it's almost like I'm a newborn child.
" Wha? Hehe hey down there!"
The person picked me up, their face and features depict that of the usual adult male...seriously I need to keep that analytical thinking in check. The person looks me over, they pull a lock of my hair to the- WHY IS IT WHITE! I look at my reflection in his monocle and, as I suspected, this isn't [My] face…now that I think about it...what is [My] face? I keep pushing back the thoughts in my head and simply let the man continue to look at me whilst I'm in his arms, this odd feeling of safety washes over and I have no reason to try and escape at the moment.
"Huh guess I'll need to give yah a name now don't I! Hmm."
"I..i..issa."
Those words barreled out of my mouth without warning, those words had little to no meaning in fact it felt as though my mind cobbled together a random assortment of sounds to make something barely equivocal to make a name, however, my mind could not let my name be anything else whilst not even knowing what a name is.
"Huh guess you already made one for yourself, never thought I'd have a creation that I never got to name but hey there's a first time for everything ."
"Who are you?"
"Oh uh... I guess I'm your Daddy kid! But if you want an actual name it's Faust! Dr. Faust Von Enzvile at your daditude!"
The man bows.
"Uh-huh huh…"
So this man is my [Father] a being whose purpose to me is to care and teach me how to excel as a [Person]. Why do I highly doubt this? Regardless of how...Off-putting he seems he is still my [Father] and I need to treat that title with respect.
"Well you seem fine so far, yah hungry?"
I patted my stomach and a rumbling sound bellowed from it.
"Um yes, actually sustenance would be appreciated, father."
"Uh alright, I'll be back soon alright, don't die before I come back!"
And so the man left.
I made a list of things in my head that I would like to do with what little free time I have And so I was left in that room waiting for that man to return. I continued to learn more whilst he was gone. Reading was first.
"Ho-mun-culus?"
"Yeah, you're saying it right Homunculus! You're learning to read pretty fast, that's good! How about feelings? You got any?"
"Hmm feelings, I felt hungry earlier, and I feel kinda warm now, so I guess?"
"Hmm, I'll note that down, once you get used to all this would you like to go to the library tomorrow?"
"Oh alright, father."
"Man never thought I'd be called that again… well you keep reading, I've got to go talk with the king's court."
As he left I simply continued to read about the things [Father] had given to me, as i continued my readings, i felt this tickling sensation around me, It was really weird.
