With the threats of the planet now reduced to a minimum thanks to Blake's perks, it would be wise to have their new home explored. After all, rocks take millions of years to erode naturally. And Blake's body wasn't natural at all! It may not be until eons passed that a natural disaster could threaten their chiseled form again. Glancing up at the plume of dust in the distance from where the asteroid that brought about so much change hit, Blake figured they would turn around and headed in the opposite direction once free. The sun was blotted out, leaving no ability to garner a sense of direction. So, with the only notable landmark for tens of thousands of kilometers around, Blake started to look at the bolder trapping them in earnest.
The magic vision made the tomb look like an immovable mass at first glance. But as Blake continued to stare, the cracks started to emerge. Crash landing on the rocky surface had already reduced the size of the prison that Blake found themselves in. Perhaps due to the high luck stat the position of the flung rock had been half buried and turned towards the sky, leaving Blake with only a few inches of damaged stone to have to fight through. With a thought, Telekinesis activated, slowly picking up and depositing the easiest shards away from each other.
It also allowed Blake the opportunity to get used to wielding magic. Using it felt like lifting an arm and spells were the actions that one could use after gathering enough energy together. Thus, Telekinesis was the best spell to practice with. In the beginning, it felt akin to a child lifting up building blocks for the first time. Shaking and occasionally dropping the stones at first, over time Blake's proficiency grew along with the level of the skill. Many breaks were taken to regenerate both the mana and Blake's patience for the task. Even the discovery that they could use the skill again once their mana was depleted helped speed up the process. But the fatigue that Blake would feel from doing so limited them from doing it just once every hour.
Darkness from the night came and went. When the morning had just barely come to pass, Blake's body sat fully exposed to the elements. Mentally stretching, Blake was tempted to look at the Status again to look at the progress they made. But after sitting in one place for so long doing the same thing over and over again made them restless. It was time for a vacation! Time to explore the world, see the sights and sounds of this beautiful burning ball of lava and ash for a planet. The colors of the world were in constant flux through Magic Vision, giving the impression of living in a vivid angry painting. The faint, pulsating wave of magic from the crash site provided a helpful landmark. Finally picking themselves up with Telekinesis and placing them on the outside of their former home, Blake landed on the blackened ground. With a grin, they issued a command.
"System, activate Mapping and Inspection modules. Keep them on until I say otherwise."
"Acknowledged. Modules activated. The user is surrounded by common rocks with a heavily saturated magical atmosphere."
As the system described the surroundings, a little mini map appeared in the upper right-hand corner of Blake's vision. However, it seemed that the module was only mapping what was focused on in Magic Vision.
"Strange. I can see where I am on the map with this little blue dot. But the human field of vision isn't a box shape. It's a cone. So why am I seeing a cube for my field of vision? Let me see if I can expand it at all." Mused Blake.
Trying it out, Blake proceeded to slowly add more to their field of vision. Since they didn't have any eyes, the limitations of the human body didn't affect them. When the brightness of the day reached its max to signify noontime, they have eventually managed to create a 360-degree field of vision.
"This is incredible! Now my Mapping module is recording at full capacity! This will save me plenty of time when I'm exploring. Alright then, let's go!"
The journey began slowly. At first, Blake could only cover about 1.5 miles (2400 meters) a day if they were lucky. Because they wanted to go in as straight of a line as possible, mountains would be climbed one step at a time. Lava flows would be used like rivers to carry Blake at no cost to their mana. Even canyons would be jumped into headfirst then climbed slowly back out of the other side. But Blake continued to grow. Their skills leveled up, making them more efficient. Mana reserves swelled after being over-used repeatedly. The field of vision became bigger with Magic Vision's growth, allowing the Mapping and Investigation modules to pick up more and more information.
After 100 years of traveling, Blake had managed to explore the entirety of the planet. There was no diversity in its environments across the world. What Blake had seen during the beginning of their trip was what they saw during their long journey. A hellscape of fire and destruction that was relentlessly unending. Focused Mind seemed to have the added effect of holding off insanity from the repetitive tasks needed for basic movement to travel. All this would be somewhat depressing if there wasn't a giant blank spot in Blake's map.
As Blake approached the point that they had been forced to go around before multiple times, a vast ocean of lava spanned out before them. The impact site of the Magic Source Meteor had been powerful enough to dig out a massive amount of the world's crust into space to create two moons. Not to mention directly injecting magic into the core to make the world naturally magical. Too large to go across in a single go and too deep to risk sinking like a rock to the bottom, the crater at this point had been the one thing Blake had not yet conquered. As Blake grinned and began to wonder how to tackle this last hurtle, a System note rang out.
"100 years have passed for the Participant. Automatic distribution of points occurring. Participant has gain 1 system point."
Stunned, Blake only just now realized what this notification called for. After 100 years, it was time to learn some new magic!
