Kaid kept switching in and out of consciousness, slowly feeling the last of his strength fading. He remained calm and was at peace even as his death drew closer with every second.
Kaid was never one to want anything but right now, in his moment of blissful clarity, he wished he could see his family again. He wished he could go back to when he was 5 years old, back to when he knew the world couldn't touch him, to when his small hands could reach across the galaxy and grab hold of the things he cherished.

In this moment Kaid wanted to go back home. He wanted to go see that home that no longer exist in this world.
He wanted to visit the graves of the family long forgotten and forever lost to the world.

As Kaid breathed his last breath he laid their thinking just how cruel the world truly is. Things never happen because they're supposed to happen, they just happen. The world cares not for your struggles and plight but only [ 'adheres to absolute strength]. Those that can't stand on their own two feet will become steppingstones for the success of others.

It was strange, Kaid didn't understand why he just though that or why there was now this sense of restlessness as if there was something he needed to do.

Yes, that was it, but why? What order? Why were these thoughts sprouting in his head moments before he's about to die?
As Kaid let out his final breath his body shuddered and became motionless. Kaid was dead.
