Chapter 2 - It Was The Most Amazing Night Ever (Jaxon's pov)

{Thank you everyone for reading my story. I really appreciate it. Before you read this chapter I'd just like to put a trigger warning due to some scenes of minor violence and death in this chapter. Please read with caution. With that being said, enjoy the story}

"So not only did you sneak out, but you stole money from me and you stole my car!" Freddy was enraged. Jaxon had never really acted up like this...so it only made him angrier.

"Dad relax. First of all, yes, I snuck out...who gives a fuck I'm 19 ok...second of all you've got millions so $20 isn't gonna hurt your bank account that much is it...and third of all WHAT'S THE POINT OF HAVING A DRIVERS LICENSE IF I CAN'T USE IT? I had the greatest night of my life tonight and all you care about is your money and your cars...some father you are."

"Listen to me Jax...I'm not going to lose you like I lost your mother ok...Lilly didn't deserve to go like that and neither do you."

"Just get the fuck out...I don't need you reminding me of mom" he said as he slammed the door in Freddy's face. Jaxon just sank down into his bed, memories of his mother rushed into his head, overwhelming him with emotions...but one memory seemed to stick with him no matter how hard he tried to forget it.

~Flashback starts ~

It was a hot day in mid-July. It was usually around this time that the state fair showed up and Jaxon had always longed to go, but his father wouldn't let him in case he got recognised...which was a fair point. Lucky for him, his father was away on a "business trip" for the week, so his mother agreed to take him. He was going to meet his friend Daphne there because she claimed to be the fairground expert, having been every time it came to their area. Jaxon and Daphne had been best friends since they were born. She was the only other person he knew, only because her parents worked for his father, so they were almost like siblings.

"Mom hurry uppppp," Jaxon shouted as he ran down the street towards the fairground "Daphne and her mom are waiting for us!"

"Ok ok," Lilly laughed running after him "slow down there Mr, the fair is gonna be here all day, no need to rush"

"Yes mom, the far may be here all day, but Daph will have to go home at some point and I haven't seen her in 3 weeks, so can we pleaseeee hurryyyyyyy"

They arrived at the fair and Jaxon couldn't believe his eyes. It looked like something out of a movie. Bright lights lit up the stalls and the rollercoasters towered over him making him seem like an ant in comparison. Let's just say that he'd need more than a day to do everything. He and Daphne ran off to partake in some of the activities whilst their mothers...which was a big mistake. Not even 5 minutes later the area was engulfed by gunfire. Bullets rained down on every square inch of the fair. Jaxon and Daphne took shelter under some of the machinery from one of the rides and waited for this torture to be over. After it went silent they ran to where they had left their mom's...only to find them lying in pools of their own blood, holes sprayed all over their bodies from where they'd been hit by the gunmen.

"No no no...mom please," Jaxon whispered as he grasped his mother's ice-cold hand. "mom please ...NO"

~Flashback ends~

"NO!" His vision blurred from the build-up of tears in his eyes as he sat up, crying into his hands. He couldn't help but feel guilty for that day...he constantly found himself thinks about if he'd stayed there with her...if anything would've been different...but he could never conjure up the answer to that one question. So it just hung there in the air. He wanted...no...he needed to talk to someone...the only person he could trust right now. So he gave her a call.

"BROTHERRRRRR" she answered

"Daph...it happened again"

"I'll be there in 10." was all she said and hung up.
