Byung Joon watched his daughter staring at the clock in horror. He laughed as he said, "That's why I walked in, planning to wake you, sleepyheads up."
Min Jun was stirred constantly from his sleep by all the noises. He woke up groggily in Byung Joon's arms. He slowly gathered his thoughts and when he met his grandpa's eyes, he immediately protested.
"Grandpa, your shoulder is hard like stone. My face hurts leaning on it."
Byung Joon didn't know whether he should laugh or cry at his grandson's complaint.
Shu Hwa laughed at her son's straightforwardness. "Then, whose shoulder do you think is soft?"
Hearing the familiar voice, Min Jun looked over happily and shouted cutely, "Of course it's my mommy's. My mommy is the softest in the world."
Shu Hwa blushed a little as she thought, 'Like father like son.'
She could still remember the day when Min Jae had held her hands and commented, 'Your hand is so soft like a pudding.'
She had swatted his hands as her face burnt into a shade of red.
"What... A pudding?" she had stuttered embarrassedly.
Min Jae had pondered for a second before nodding more determinedly. "Don't you love pudding? I just made a casual comparison so that you would know how soft you are."
Her face had flushed even brighter as she had been driven speechless by this shameless man.
She had stammered while pointing at him, "Y-Y-You...!!"
But she had eventually given up. In the end, she had turned around and walked away from him when he suddenly caught her petite waist and pulled her into his embrace.
He had put his chin on her shoulder. He had nuzzled gently into her neck. "Not only is your skin so soft and smooth, but you also smell good."
Thereafter, his lips had curled up. He had breathed into her red ear, "And I wonder how soft those would be."
She turned towards him confused, only to see his eyes gazing at a certain location on her chest.
She had immediately pushed him away and ran away in utter embarrassment. She could hear him laughing loudly from behind her then as he had watched her scuttled like a bunny.
"Mommy?"
Shu Hwa snapped out of her thoughts when she heard her sons calling out to her. She became shy right away from daydreaming in front of her sons.
"Mommy, why is your face so red?" Min Hyuk asked worriedly. He then moved to put his little hand on her forehead. When he found out his mommy wasn't sick, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"It's not a fever," He informed his twin brother.
Meanwhile, Shu Hwa cheeks flushed a deep shade of red from her son's action. She quickly fanned her face and exclaimed, "It's because the weather is so hot. Phew!!!" She continued to fan herself and even increased the speed of her fanning.
Min Hyuk skeptically said, "But it rained at dawn so, the morning is rather cloudy today."
Shu Hwa's hand immediately came to an abrupt stop. Her face blanched as she stared at her older son. 'Can't you help your mommy here, Son? Let her lie. Why are you so honest, Darling?'
Shu Hwa gulped as she looked over at her father who was watching her with curiosity.
Flustered, she hurriedly retorted, "Why are you so keen to know this? Mommy is just feeling hot. Now get ready! Go, hurry!"
She clapped her hand. "Chop! Chop! Come on now, we're already late!"
She pushed her son up. But the kids remained motionless as they gazed at their mommy completely confused.
They looked at each other and asked in unison, "Where to, Mommy?"
Shu Hwa smacked her forehead then. Right, she hadn't told her babies. She then smiled and cheerily informed them. "Where else? Obviously to school. We need to get you, my darlings, registered!"
While the mommy was all excited, the twins pursed their lips as they groaned inwardly. Right, school. School...
They both sighed. Both kids unwillingly dragged their little feet and prepared to go out. They each took an outfit before they went to the shower. Shu Hwa helped bath them first before she went in herself.
After Min Jun and Min Hyuk were done, they went to the kitchen where Byung Joon had prepared them some toast with chocolate jam and a glass of milk.
"Come have breakfast while you wait for your mommy."
The twins immediately went to take a seat at the dining table and slowly savoured the toast. The moment they were finished, Shu Hwa had done as well. She didn't plan to eat in peace since she was already late for the appointment with the school's principal.
So, she hastily grabbed the piece of toast, kissed her father on the cheek and went through the door with her kids in tow. Byung Joon shook his head at his daughter fast action. She came and gone like the wind. The first day at home and already she burst through like a tornado.
He chuckled to himself before making himself a toast and a cup of coffee. He brought them to the living room. He enjoyed his breakfast while watching TV. It was just another day at home. But for some reason, he felt happier than before.
