Chapter 115 - Broken Limits [Chapter 115]

Something strange happens while in my buffed state, time seemingly slows down. I assume this is from using the eleventh level variant of all the buff spells. The woman slowly leans back, then hops backwards. I easily walk up to her, the ground fragmenting with every step I take. I don't hesitate, instantly plunging my hand through her back. I quickly rip her heart out and throw it to the ground. As it leaves my hand, it also starts falling slower than I would expect. I quickly make my way to the teleporter, walking through it. As I appear at the other side, I see a massive army surrounding the teleporter. I extend both my hands and spin in a circle.

[Soul Fire 11]

The flesh on my palms melts away as blue flames roll from my hands, stopping in the air in front of me. After several spins, I'm sure that the incomparably hot flames will wash over the entire army, killing them all. I move back through the teleporter and put my palm to the ground. I feel tears welling up, the skin on my body almost igniting into flames from the friction of moving through the air so fast.

"[Absolute Negate]."

I close the teleporter then take another deep breath. I quickly jump high into the air, watching the ground slowly explode outwards from where I imparted so much force. I look around the battlefield, falling slowly. I feel my heart sinking, seeing thousands upon thousands of men and women dead, the cost of this battle being far greater than I could have possibly imagined. I inhale, composing myself for what I'm about to do. I teleport down to the ground, feeling a sick feeling across my entire body. I use [Telekinesis] on myself so I won't destroy the ground in my mission to wipe out Mathric's army. To everyone else, it'll be the blink of an eye, to me, hours. I move through the battlefield, one by one killing all the barbarians. Time flies by in a blur, hastily moving all over the battlefield with murderous intent. Suddenly, I notice several Mathric soldiers speeding up, moving faster than the woman was. I quickly move to them and kill them as well.

While making my way to the last few enhanced Mathric soldiers, I feel a crushing feeling on my heart. A pain so intense, I release [Telekinesis] and drop to the ground in agony. I feel blood filling my lungs, a torture only I can endure. Forcing myself up, I fling myself towards the last few enhanced soldiers, progressively feeling continually increasing pain. Veins start popping from the exertion, my eyes stinging wildly. My skin and clothes barely hanging on. My heart feels like it explodes, but [Field of Life] pulls it back together. I stumble towards the last few soldiers, regretting this idea, but too far into it to turn back and release the spells. One by one I manage to kill the few remaining barbarians. With only a few left alive, I fall to my knees, in too much pain to move. Every moment, my heart feels like it's collapsing and healing repeatedly. I grit my teeth hard enough to cause my gums to bleed, forcing myself towards at least one more barbarian. With one last swing, I explode the barbarian's body as I fall to the ground.

I undo all the spells except for the [Field of life], so I won't just outright die. The world returns to normal speed, the echoing sounds of explosions from the speed of contact between my fist and their heads. At first, all the allied forces around me look confused, but when they see me on the ground, they quickly move over to me. I blink, time distorting from the pain, falling in and out of conscious. I open my eyes, seeing Ayvex floating above me. I watch as she dispatches some of the remaining forces from Mathric, then turns her attention back to me for a moment. I reach up towards her, for reasons I don't understand, compelled to help her fight. She leans down towards me, my wounds healing at once. The pain subsides, her words ringing in my ears.

"Final push, right? Grim is all that's left for us."

Her words sound weird, it's not how I would imagine she would word it. But I push the thought aside, getting helped to my feet. Lancelot brings me my sword, with the help of a couple of other soldiers. I take the blade, giving them a thankful nod. Everyone turns their attention to Grim, who's laughing high above the ground for some reason. Azeroth and Blankk run up beside me, also staring up at the dragon looming above. Grim continuously rolls his flames over himself, so we wouldn't be able to get onto him. Ayvex quickly spins her blade around and flies swiftly straight up. A trailing golden and silver helix follows behind her, spiraling up to the tip of her blade. Suddenly her speed increases dramatically, streaking through the air towards Grim. He looks down and breathes fire towards her, enveloping her in the purple flames. We all watch, anxiously. Suddenly a large white and gold explosion appears at Grim's chest. Grim suddenly starts falling away from the explosion, his wings, falling limp for a moment. Ayvex falls from the explosion, also seemingly limp.

Before I have time to think, I try to teleport to her, but it doesn't work. I feel it, what Nevereth was meaning before. My body can only go so far, only channel so much magic. I quickly look to Azeroth.

"Get us up there! You have Vex's spells, right?!"

He looks stunned for a moment but follows my demand. He grabs me and we appear on Ayvex's shoulder. Her arms are both broken and damaged horribly, along with a large chunk of her armor missing. Azeroth strains, Ayvex seemingly too large for him to teleport with. I grit my teeth, and force magic forward. My eyes, ears, and mouth all start having blood roll out from the exertion. I don't know why I'm forcing myself so hard to make sure she's all right, but I refuse to stand by. I refuse to be helpless while someone I care for dies.

"NOT AGAIN!"

Magic wraps around us, my telekinesis stopping us feet from the ground and gently setting us down. I collapse, starting to fall from Ayvex's shoulder. Azeroth manages to grab me and stop me from falling. After a few moments of my ears ringing, I see Grim pass over us, his purple flames raining down from above. My ears stop ringing but are replaced by the deafening screams from across the battlefield. I manage to look over, seeing people turning to ash and dust as they come into contact with the flames.
