I stand amidst the rapidly sprawling chaos, completely confused as to what to do. I start to step towards a bloody massacre in front of me, the army from Mathric easily ripping through our backline. But, before I can move that way, I hear people behind me also screaming. Conflicted on which way to go, I quickly grit my teeth and lunge towards our backline. As I charge forward, several barbarians from Mathric swing their clubs and axes towards me. I easily slide under their attacks and spin in a circle, slashing the four brutes' legs apart. As they fall forward, I continue my spin and slash all four of their throats as well. I quickly continue, using my momentum to jump towards another barbarian. As the man starts to slam his club down on one of the Vathric soldiers. I plunge my sword forward, piercing the man's head and club, saving the soldier from being crushed.
The soldier from Vathric quickly stands up and nods towards me, appreciative of being saved from the blow. I rip my blade from the barbarian, quickly looking to my right to the sounds of more screaming. I watch Vexien bounce off the barbarians, easily dispatching of them one-by-one. Passed Vexien, a group of larger barbarians easily bowl through the army, crushing people with no effort. I ready my blade and swing in their direction. Before my swing reaches full speed, I teleport between two of the giant's heads. I twist my body as hard as I can and use my sword's already present momentum to slash through their necks. While spinning and falling, I concentrate as hard as I can once more to see the other giants. Before I hit the ground, I teleport once again, this time spinning sideways and slamming my sword down through one giant's head. I spin myself around and push off the giant's back, aiming my sword towards the other four giants. They move slow, too slow to dodge.
Before they can react, I cast [Exsanguinate 10] on all four of them. Blood rips from their skin, all of them falling limply to the dirt as their blood travels through the air towards my sword. I lean back in the air, turning myself upside down for just a moment to look across the battlefield. I notice more barbarians appearing through the teleporter, so I swing my sword towards it, the blood still trailing through the air. As even more soldiers appear and start to leave the platform, I launch a large fireball their way, attempting to not hit my army in the process. In a flash, my fireball rips through the air, evaporating most of the trailing blood.
I slowly fall, keeping on my fireball's trajectory. As it starts to hit the tether and teleporter, it suddenly disappears. A tall, muscular woman flies through where my fireball was and rapidly approaches me. She quickly throws a punch towards me. Thinking quickly, I teleport a few inches above her and slash my sword down. Her fist rams into my blade, slashing all the way up her arm. When the blade reaches her shoulder, I jerk by body slightly, slashing through the side of her head. Her body goes limp, and she starts falling towards the ground. To my surprise, her other arm breaks back and grabs my blade. I watch stunned as she pulls me through the air, her slinging her cut arm towards me limply. I easily dodge, switching my grip on my sword to a reverse grip and slamming both of my feet down towards her face. Her arm swings passed me, missing by just a little bit as my feet slam into her face, exploding her head and launching us in different directions.
Her body slams hard to the ground and I gain more height, able once more to see a lot of the battlefield. I see a solid chunk of the army has been killed, the forces of Mathric clearly much stronger. I see several guilds outmaneuvering and outclassing the Mathric barbarians, while my friends seem to have no problems dispatching of the barbarians. Far off across the battlefield I see the mages launching multiple high-power spells. I take a deep breath, knowing I cannot get too comfortable. I quickly kick my feet down, landing on a barbarian beneath me. I crush his shoulders down, almost ripping them off, only holding on by a few scraps of flesh and sinew. He starts to shout in pain, but I grab his throat and easily crush it.
For a moment, just a split second, I feel myself start to fall back into the rhythm of murderous intent. For a moment, I feel Nevereth. I shake the feeling of joy from the sight of the blood-soaked battlefield and quickly kill all the Mathric soldiers around me. I slash my blade through them all, cutting them down. My blade goes through them just as easily as if they weren't even there. I keep moving, trying to save as many soldiers as I can. I jump over a large section of the Mathric army and extend my hand. I once again use [Exsanguinate 10], but this time I use another spell afterwards. As the blood trails through the air once more, I quickly touch the tip of the trail and use [Creeping Cold 11]. The massive pool of blood breaks apart, frozen into thousands of shards. While still above the shards, I use [Telekinesis 10] and throw the thousands of frozen blood shards towards the teleporter. This time, they all hit. Hundreds of Mathric's soldiers are hit at once, killing them all instantly. I flip to the ground as I see the higher rated guilds and my friends starting to push the army back, beginning to overwhelm them. I smile, a slight feeling of hopefulness coming over me as I see Kain charging towards me.
I look over to him, distracted for a split second as his mouth moves, yelling something. He quickly changes his foot positioning and throws his sword towards me. As it gets close to me, my brain finally processes what I heard.
"Duck!"
I lean forward into a roll as his blade passes overhead. I look back as I roll to my feet and see Kain's sword jam through one of the barbarian's head. I stand, stunned that somehow one of them had survived as Kain runs past me and retrieve his sword. He shouts towards me and quickly gets back into combat.
"Damnit! Keep your head on a swivel!"
With those words, he raises his shield and jumps towards some more barbarians. A deafening roar causes everyone to recoil slightly, except for the barbarians. I quickly snap my head up, seeing Grim flying high above us with purple flames rolling through the air. I glare towards him as more Mathric barbarians appear through the teleporter. An idea comes to mind, and I quickly turn my attention to the teleporter.
"I've got to disable it, before more come through."
