Chapter 107 - The Other Weapons [Chapter 107]

I turn towards them, confused by how they knew we'd be here. I keep myself guarded in case they decide to get violent, then speak up.

"So, how'd you know to find us here? We were planning on teleporting soon, what if you had missed us? Were you informed by Ayvex or one of the others?"

I ask several questions, each making sense to me. Elith laughs as I keep myself readied.

"That's cute, you think we couldn't or wouldn't be able to find you. Demons can feel other demons, as long as we aren't separated by the anti-magic field of the ocean that is."

She starts walking towards me, pulling her massive sword from her back. She moves her hands strangely, spinning the large blade easily. As she steps closer, I notice the Knights of The Round are also seemingly on edge. She speaks up.

"All of our weapons are from high level dungeons, except mine. My weapon was given to me by someone I never met, and as I've come to realize, is much stronger than normal weapons."

She looks at her weapon, then to me.

"I overheard you talking about weapons, so allow me to tell you about mine."

I pause before loosening up my posture and nodding, accepting she means no harm. I look to her sword and inspect it. Magic seemingly flows off the blade, but in small wispy strands.

"It does look powerful, looking at it up close. So, what does it do?"

She nods and holds it up, angling the blade toward the sky.

"I've wielded many weapons, but this one is unique. All weapons on this world have a name, and when held, will show its name, score, and abilities. This sword does none of those things. It shows no name, no abilities, no score, but it does have them surely."

I pause, my newfound knowledge of the system around us giving me a strange thought.

No, Nevereth created the system. By what I can tell, everything created on this planet should fall within it. Could that mean that sword is from a different world? Is that possible? No, it shouldn't be. Nevereth was sure there only exists one planet with life, the other celestial bodies above are desolate and dead. That means this weapon didn't come from another world, rather, a being that stood above Nevereth. Mother?

I shake my head, trying not to overthink it, then extend my hand.

"May I see the sword? I'd like to hold it."

She nods, showing no sign of hesitation or regret. Faster than I was expecting, she tosses the sword up and towards me. I grip the handle as it falls downward into my hand. Surprisingly, most of my body gets submerged under the semi-soft dirt as the weight of the blade drives me down.

No way, this blade shouldn't be this heavy. It feels light to me, because of absurd strength. But under normal circumstances, it would most likely take a large village to even lift this sword. How can she wield it and not fall through the ground like I did?

I use [Telekinesis] to lift myself from the dirt and look to Elith.

"How do you remain above ground when using this weapon? Surely you should be sinking into the dirt with every step you take."

She looks at me, confused.

"I'm more intrigued why you sank into the ground. But I guess I haven't walked on the ground in quite some time. I thought you would understand, but I see you don't."

She clears her throat and points to her feet. I look down, seeing her black metal grieves and nod.

"So, it's your boots that allow you to stand while wielding this?"

She shakes her head and sighs.

"No. So, you really can't see the magic?"

I'm shocked by her words, and as I lean closer, I see a thin line of magic barely separating her boots from the dirt underneath. Before I can speak, she sighs.

"It's tiring, but it allows me to not be impeded by terrain. It also seems to have stopped me from sinking while using that sword, which is a surprise to me."

I stand still, blown away by what she's done.

There does not exist a spell like that. Does that mean she too has Magic Creation?

"So, you created that spell to help you move over terrain without any problems?"

She shakes her head.

"No, I merely used what I was taught by my father."

"And where is your father now?"

I ask, curious of who this man could be. Without hesitation, or any emotion, she replies.

"I killed him."

A silent breeze sweeps passed me; the large army behind us even seemingly fading into silence.

"You...killed him?"

I ask, feeling a strange emotion rolling over me. Not sadness or anger, contempt, or happiness. More, a feeling of regret. I sigh as she nods in response, understanding this is a topic for a later discussion.

"Let's get back onto the topic at hand, what does this weapon do?"

I ask, tossing it back to her. She easily catches it and replies to my question.

"By what I understand, it halves all the attributes of whoever it hits. Seems to last about ten minutes."

I widen my eyes, almost taken aback by the absurdity of her sword.

"Does it have to pierce skin, will it break, does it have any flaws, or any other drawback?"

I ask, hoping her answer is 'no'. With a smile, almost as though she knows what I want to hear, she shakes her head.

"There is no drawback, besides its weight."

I smile, feeling a strange relief. I look passed her, to the others, and ask them a question.

"And your weapons? How strong are they?"

Elith speaks up for them, some of them clearly upset that they do not get to speak.

"Entren's sword casts [Exsanguinate 1] on hit. But the spells power remains the same no matter who the user is."

She looks to Valera next.

"Her scythe casts [Hellfire 10] whenever she pierces somethings skin, but the spell power is still predetermined."

Raskira is next in line.

"His long sword increases all his stats by fifteen times when he's in a shadow."

Kurosaxa tries to speak up, but Elith speaks over her.

"My weapon-"

"Her daggers increase her speed and strength by twenty times each."

Kurosaxa frowns and stares at Elith as Elith looks to Mariana.

"Finally, Mariana's Rapier drains HP whenever it pierces skin, but you've already seen that weapon firsthand."
